It was nighttime and Maryam was sleeping peacefully in her room. Her peaceful slumber was interrupted when she felt something harsh brushing her right cheek. She also felt that someone was sitting right beside her head.

Opening her eyes Maryam looked at the person and it was none other than Yardan. He was caressing her cheek having soft eyes. Looking at him she sat back instantly.

" Sorry. I don't know when I slept," Maryam said meekly and started opening her nightgown. She knew why he is in her room.

Yardan grabbed her hands and stopped her from opening her clothes. She looked at him questioningly and a confused expression appeared on her face.

" Did you have your dinner?" He asked sounding concerned and Maryam blinked her eyes confusingly.

This time he asked loudly," Did you have your dinner?"

" Ummm....... Yeah. I just ate some fruits," Maryam answered shortly still trying to understand his behaviour.

It's been years since they got married. After their marriage, Yardan never cared about Maryam, her health and her feelings. He never asked her if she is fine, what she wants and anything about her feelings. So, Maryam was extremely surprised to hear his concerned voice suddenly!

" Fruit is healthy but you should also take other food items that include necessary nutrients too. You are pregnant and you should follow the diet chart properly," Yardan told her and Maryam felt like he has flushed his brain in the toilet. Is he caring for her? She is confused.

Maryam was staring at him confusingly when he asked," Did you have your medicines?"

Maryam just shook her head in the negative. Yardan gave her a disappointed look.

" I forgot to take the medicines," She answered meekly.

Yardan didn't say anything further. Walking towards the drawer, he took out Maryam's medicine box and came back to her. Sitting beside her, he started taking out the medicines from the packets.

" You shouldn't be careless at this time," He said handing her a glass of water.

Maryam will just have the medicines when she noticed an unknown tablet in Yardan's hand. A frown appeared on her face seeing this unknown tablet.

" This tablet!!" Maryam whispered confusingly taking it in her hand.

Yardan replied," It's a vitamin tablet. The doctor prescribed it too but you forgot to buy it. So, I thought to buy it for you!!"

" It was prescribed! I didn't see it in the prescription," Maryam said sounding confused.

After that Yardan walked to the drawer again and came back with the prescription. He showed it to Maryam and she was surprised to see that Yardan was right. Indeed this medicine was prescribed in the prescription.

" You have to take this vitamin tablet every night," he reminded her and then she had the medicines.

After taking it she looked at Yardan when he apologised," I am sorry for my behaviour. I shouldn't have acted rudely. Sometimes handling children become really tough. Don't mind Omi's behaviour."

Maryam was dumbfounded by his apology. The word sorry felt so foreign to her after hearing it from his mouth. She doesn't know how to react now. She is used to his rude behaviour but now his gentle behaviour is also feeling so weird to her. The sudden change in his behaviour is surprising to her.

" Omi is a child. I don't mind her behaviour at all," Maryam answered smiling slightly.

A sudden yelp left Maryam's mouth when he pulled her towards him holding her shoulder. Her chest collided with his chest and now his lips are a few inches away from her lips. Her lips quivered feeling his hot breath fanning on her lips.
