Husk

3rd person's pov :

Forth smiles with colsed eyes as he feels Beam entering his room through the wall . "What happened ?"

Beam sits on the bed slowly "Mimi is practicing dress change in dining . She didn't let me stay there ."

Forth chuckles "she is traumatised by your dress change ."

Beam slowly floats closer to Forth "I learned it in one day ."

Forth looks at Beam "you learned floating too ?"

Beam nods proudly "I am a brilliant ghost ." .

Forth laughes out loud but soon his face drops .

Beam frowns "what ?"

Forth hurriedly climbs down the bed and walks towards his closet .

Beam frowns harder "what happened ?"

Forth takes a black jacket from his closet "I need to go . Stay here . Don't roam around ."

Beam floats closer to Forth "another ghost ? Let me come with you . I can help ."

Forth shakes his head "not this one , Beam . It's a fierce ghost . Ritha couldn't handle him . He escaped . I need to be careful ."

"Fierce ?"

Forth walks out of his room but Beam follows "is he going to hurt you ?"

"He will try to ." Forth replies while wearing his boot .

"Then I will come ." Beam says firmly .

"Beam !you will be here ." Forth glares at Beam . "You have never seen a fierce ghost , Beam . You can bring trouble ."

"Agh ! Stop it !" Mimi shouts at Beam as he keeps on floating through the wall with full speed .

Beam growls "Forth isn't back yet . What's taking him so long ?"

Mimi growls back "it's a fierce ghost . It can take one twenty four hours too ."

Beam pouts "I am bored . Why fierce ghost take so long ?"

"Because they are murdered . They don't die normal death . Somebody kills them . So they don't accept easily that they are dead and their assassins are alive , enjoying life ."

Beam floats closer to Mimi "you mean they ask for revenge ?"

Mimi nods "yes ! That's why they are fierce ."

"Then why don't we let them have their revenge ? Human did wrong to them , afterall !" Beam frowns . .

Mimi rolls his eyes "because ghost life has nothing to do with past . Only about future . Doesn't matter how much you want , you can't go backwards . You have to accept death and cross or you will be a husk !"

"A husk ?" Beam comes down to floor .

"Yeah ! A husk ! A black body withot any feature ! A void thing without any feelings ." Mimi whispers .

Beam sighs "It's good then , atleast better than feeling only regrets ."

"P'Forth says Regrets are better than being empty. As long as you have regrets , you have pain . And as long as you have pain , you have love inside you ." Mimi smiles . "They are all related ."

Beam smiles thinly "um ! Your P'Forth is very mature . Huh ?"

Mimi chuckles "don't you feel love when you regret not expressing love ?"

The curve of Beam's lips disappears . He looks at Mimi .

"I do !" Mimi smiles thinly this time ."I wish I have said how much I loved him that it's still stopping me to leave this world !"

"Who was it ? Your crush ??" Beam asks .

Mimi chuckles "my son !"

Beam gasps. He was about to ask further when Mimi cuts him .

"I was not married . I had him after I broke up with my ex. But when I came to know about my son it was too late to abort . So, I gave birth ." Mimi grimace .

Beam blinks .

"But I used to hate him . I never talked with him like a sweet mother , never asked him how he was , never taught him anything .... he is of five years now . He ...." Mimi stops in the middle .

Beam grimaces too.

"Forth pays for his expenses but ..
How can I just leave , leaving him ?" Mimi's voice breaks .

Beam holds Mimi's hand tightly. "It's ok ! It's not your fault . You didn't know that you would die ..."

"Is Forth back ?"

Both Beam and Mimi turn around , hearing Ritha's voice . Beam frowns "no , he is not ."

Ritha sighs "oh god ! We got a husk !"

Beam frowns harder "huh ? What do you mean ?"

Mimi stands up from the floor "P'Forth just went 2 hours ago . You mean, you handed him over after 46 hours ?"

"I tried to claim him ." Ritha pouts "wait, let me check if he is a husk t
Yet or not.They must be at Armhest Street now , the place of the murder . Byeeee !"

Beam looks at Mimi inquisitively as soon as Ritha leaves "what was she talking about ?"

"A husk ! When a ghost doesn't accept his death even after two days of his death , he becomes a husk. An empty shell ."

Beam raises his brows "owh ! And being empty is bad ?"

"Of course ! Imagine seeing your murderer enjoying his life in front of your eyes . But you don't feel the anger to even growl ." Mimi gives an example .

"They say that being a husk makes a ghost desperate . They start to harm people just to feel something . They even agrees to do anything to feel something again ." Mimi whispers .

"But they can't do anything because they are ghost . That's tragic ." Beam chuckles .

Mimi blinks then she shakes her head "A husk is a powerful shell . They can do so many things that a normal ghost can't do . They can harm . I told you . Oh god ! P'Forth isn't back yet ."

Beam frowns again "wait ! You mean .... A husk can harm Forth ? Isn't he a helper ?

"And isn't A helper just a human ?" Mimi asks in worry .

Beam gasps "but .... b...

Beam stops his sentence and looks at the door . Beam is a powerful ghost . He can do so many things which Mimi can't do . What did Ritha say .....

'They must be at Armhest Street now , the place of the murder .'

Beam blinks "Mimi ! Byeeee ! I am going to help Forth ."

Beam shouts while floating out of the house .
