Today, I want to talk to you guys about something things that are very real.
The Baltimore riots are still going on. Germanwings Flight 9525 crashed and killed one hundred and fifty people. I'm sure you've all heard about the earthquake in Nepal by now. And then there's the civil wars going on in Syria and Iraq. People are still dying of dehydration and malnutrition all over the world.
And yet, you people still waste time being overdramatic over a character's death.
I won't name any names, because I've encountered a LOT of people like this, but in short...
You have no right to threaten to kill yourself over a fictional character's death.
I'm sorry, but in no way does that make me think you're mentally stable and should be on the internet.
And before you go on a rant, let me define what mental stability is. Mental Health is defined as "a state of well-being in which the individual realizes his or her own abilities, can cope with the normal stresses of life, can work productively and fruitfully, and is able to make a contribution to his or her community" by the CDC.
By nature, finding non-existant people your only friends and comfort does not fall under that definition, now does it?
You're not crazy, nor am I calling you that. Are you of sound mind is debatable, because I'm not talking to you in specifics. And of course, I'm no therapist, so I am not the one to go to for that. I'd go into a rant on that, but that's not the topic I'm discussing right now.
You people need to calm down and take a look at what you're causing. Most of the time, you have a lot to blame for it. You're not fully guilty, but you're in no way innocent, either.
In every fight, both sides are guilty of doing the wrong things. But the thing is, you need to be the better person and realize you're doing wrong and agree to disagree.
It's understandable to be upset over a character's death. What is NOT understandable or reasonable is to do/threaten the following: suicide, bodily harm to yourself or other persons, and-or start fights about it and then make it personal.
And it really does not help your case if you turn around and then insult yourself. That's never a good/reasonable/rational/sane thing to do. You're only going to humiliate yourself and make yourself look crazy.
And if you say you have mental issues that cause you to be that way, it's not an excuse. You should be seeing a therapist about that, then, rather than starting fights about it online.
So please, do us all a favor and calm down.
It's not the end of the world.
