"Alexander too doesn’t have it. Find Claire Marcel that little bitch has the title deed," Bianca commanded whoever was on the other side of the phone.
John, Bianca’s husband, who stood by the doorway secretly listening to his wife speaking on the phone, couldn’t remain silent any longer because the anger overtook every cell in his body. "Bianca..." he growled her name, slowly strolling toward her.
Startled by his sudden presence, Bianca turned around. Seeing her husband, her eyes widened in shock. She couldn't say anything, she just froze in place, jaw dropped, fingers going numb as she dropped the phone.
John stepped on the phone on the floor, the noise of it crushing echoed through the room. Bianca recovered from the shock and slowly backed away from the approaching danger called John.
John stopped her retreat by clutching her forearm. "You just can't let go of the past," he yelled in her face.
They had met years ago actually they were childhood sweethearts. John worked for Bianca’s father. They met once in a meeting, and it was love at first sight for both. John had been around long enough to know every piece of DeLuca's dirty laundry and how obsessed his wife was with owning the DeLuca empire just to prove her father wrong.
Five years ago, Alessandro had tried to kill Bianca, but John had saved her in time. He had suggested they leave the country and start a new life somewhere else, but Bianca refused. And John, ever loyal, said, "What my wife wants is what my wife gets." So, he helped fake Bianca’s death, and they moved three towns away from Alessandro. They started a new and comfortable life.
John even thought Bianca had let go of the power her surname held and was content with what they had. How wrong he was...
"You led Alexander to you!"
"You're hurting me!" Bianca cried, trying to push John away.
As someone with a high IQ and a former strategist in the mafia, John quickly figured out his wife’s plan.
He threw Bianca to the floor. "You wonder why your father looked down on you? He didn’t want you to succeed him not because you’re a woman. He just didn’t want a fool to take his place."
Never in their life had John manhandled Bianca like this or spoken to her that way. But everyone has their limits. The consequences of what Bianca had done were unthinkable.
"You led Alexander to you because you wanted to see if he had the title deed. You told him about Lily because you wanted him to have the upper hand in fighting Alessandro. You wanted him and that stupid president to take out Alessandro, and you wanted to make him believe you’re no longer associated with the DeLucas. While Alexander let his guard down around you, you'd find the title deed first and claim victory..." John paused, pinching the bridge of his nose before crouching in front of Lisa. "How stupid can you be? You just invited danger into our lives. Now Alexander knows you’re alive, have you even thought about what happens if he tells Alessandro!?"
"He won’t!!"
"Alessandro knows his brother is back. Have you thought about what happens if he sent people to spy on him? You letting Alexander find you means those spies would also find you."
Bianca didn’t say anything. What else could she say? "I'm sorry. I didn’t think of it that way."
"You seriously think that even after you told Alexander you weren't interested in the land, he believed you and will spare you?" John stood back up to his full height and yanked Bianca up by her arm.
