Struggling

Shopping for groceries was always a confusing task for you, You just couldn't seem to figure out what to take. Everything was expensive and you weren't really used to buy cheap stuff. One thing you were bad at was money management, because from the very beginning you were stuffed with money from your mother, then your old job paid you very well.. So money was never a problem for you before but it is now. 

You looked inside your wallet and saw just twenty-five dollars with which you had to spend a week. Sighing again, you went to your house and sat on the dining table holding your head, gently massaging your scarf.

"What am I gonna do?"

It's not that it's hard for you to get a job, but you know you would never join a stable job you had before, because you knew that the seven devils of your life would find you. You really were scared, scared that you'll lose the freedom you have again.

You called your boss.

"Yes, Y/n?"

"I- I was wondering if I could... You know, do some more extra shifts."

"I would love that Y/n, but, actually, we're full for today and tomorrow. You could do it on the weekend if you want."

"Yea, sure, I'll be there.. Thank you Andrew."

"Sure." He hung up the phone.

You sighed and looked in your fridge, luckily you saw some frozen chicken. You quickly started making them and went to sleep.

You were on a late night shift in the cafe and not much people were there. You were alone with another girl who was also doing a late night shift. She was scrolling on her phone while chewing on sum gum. Suddenly, her face was flourished with worry. She stood up as she started sobbing looking at you. You ran to her and held her shoulders.

"Tiara, What's wrong?"

"My mother- S-she's in a very critical condition my Dad just called me to come over there as soon as possible. Y/n please I have to leave, handle it alone." With that she ran out taking her purse and even without changing her uniform.

"May the lady be okay." You prayed for her mother to be fine.

An hour later, you were feeling sleepy but you still forced yourself to stay up by eating some mints and drinking water. Just then, the bell of the cafe rang and you looked up to see an older lady. She came to the counter and gave her order. Not even 10 minutes her order was completed, since she was busy with work you went to her place and gave her the refreshments. She smiled thanking you, and then you went back on your working place. 

Suddenly, while you were roaming your eyes everywhere, you saw an unknown man looking inside, specially at you. And as soon he saw you, he smiled gently and waved at you as he was about to enter a girl came and pulled him with her. You guessed that he was probably a colleague from the office  you previously worked and there were many foreign men there. You felt thankful that you weren't alone now, you were with someone and especially someone like that woman, Because she was well built and you guessed she knew how to fight.
