The soft hum of the air conditioner greets Hyeri as she comes from her subconscious state of slumber. She was feeling groggy as she woke up, her senses taking their time to adjust to her messy room.
Piles of clothes lay everywhere, all her make-up and products lay about her dresser, and her desk holds empty bags of chips and a cappuccino that was ordered two days ago.
Hyeri emerges from the mess, her unmade bed seeming to be the site she left. She yawned and rubbed her eyes.
A notification chime rang from her phone.
Hyeri's eyes bulged out of her eye sockets, realizing that her blaring phone alarm failed to wake her up from her after school nap.
"Oh crap-crap-crap-crap...!" Hyeri continues to repeat the word under her breath as she quickly put on a pair of jeans and a light tee. She grabbed the bold green uniform vest and gagged in disgust.
"I can't believe I have to actually wear thi-"
Yura barges in her room before Hyeri could finish her sentence.
Hyeri was about to mutter a word until Sojin's upset voice trickled in from outside the door. Yura put her finger to her mouth, signalling Hyeri to keep quiet. Her eyes flashed with mischief.
Hyeri simply rolled her eyes as she checked her phone for the time.
"Oh God, it's like five minutes until 9PM! Oh no...!" Hyeri rushed out of her room, revealing Yura from her hiding spot.
Sojin huffed in frustration, "Give it back to me this instant, Kim Ahyoung!"
Yura giggled as she stuffed a pink envelope into her shirt, "Come and get it!" she teased. Sojin whined as Hyeri rushed back into her room to retrieve the keys to their dorm.
"You guys better take this crap outside if things get violent..." Hyeri told the both of them as she gently caressed her desktop computer.
Her older friends rolled their eyes in response.
"All you care about are video games! Of course!" Yura proclaimed.
Sojin sighed, "I never wanted this crap to start in the first place..."
"But guess who has a secret admirer?!" Yura took the pink envelope from her shirt and waved it in Hyeri's face.
"Ooh! That looks so cute! Oh my God, who would write such a lovely thing?!" Hyeri got excited as she attempted to take the letter from Yura. However, Sojin snatched it from her before she could.
"It's mine!" Sojin admitted with a flush of color coming to her cheeks.
Hyeri gasped, "Oh my! Of course it would be for you! Sojin-unnie, you're like the most beautiful girl on campus! Nonetheless, one of the smartest students here!" she looked at her in awe as Yura couldn't help but laugh. Sojin's cheeks reddened even more.
"'I have always looked up to you ever since freshman year...Oppa!'" Yura quoted from the letter enclosed in the pink envelope. She clasped her hands together, imitating a school girl character from a shoujo manga.
Sojin jumped at Yura and covered her mouth with her hand, "Shut up!"
Hyeri laughed at the sight, "Oh! Ok, so it's the other way around!" Yura continued quoting from the letter even though her voice sounded muffled due to Sojin's hand. Sojin blushed madly. She was clueless on what to tell her younger friend. Yura already gave her away and now all she could do is cover Yura's mouth in embarrassment.
Out of nowhere, Baekhyun sticks his head in Hyeri's room.
"Hey, girls!"
And he was greeted with sudden surprised squeals coming from the mouths of his girlfriend's room-mates.
