"Look, I'm married to this game, that's who I made my wife." Simone raps one of Nipsey lyrics. "Said I'll die alone, I told that bitch she prolly right."
"One thing that's for sure, not a stranger to this life." I pick up where she leaves off. "Got a safe that's full of Franklins and a shoulder full of stripes."
Somewhere between hearing her throw up, she hearing me cry, and exchanging names with each other — I felt so comfortable with her, we ended staying in the bathroom well after the bell for first period rung. "That was awesome." Simone chuckles as she cross her arms, leaning am back against the sink she release a deep sigh. "I just can't believe that Nipsey is really gone, this a different type of hurt."
"Tell me about it." I shake my head as I cross my arms, just sitting here talking with her made me feel way better than what I've been feeling these last couple weeks now. And she doesn't look at me like something is wrong with me, even after hearing me break down cry in here earlier. With everything going on in my life I just need more people like her in it so I found myself saying, "Hey, tonight in Crenshaw they having a Vigil for him. I'm going, do you wanna come?"
"I would love too." She smiles but then it drops. "But I don't have a way to get out there."
"Not a problem," I dismiss her previous sentence with. "I'm sure my boyfriend wouldn't mind picking you up along the way."
"No, he doesn't have to. I don't wanna trouble you."
"I'm the one who's inviting you to come with me, you won't be any trouble." I assure her, I take my phone out and head to my contacts. "Give me your number, imma send you a text and you can save my number in your phone." When we are finish exchanging numbers the bell to end first period rings, we leave the bathroom together. "I can't believe we just skip first period to sit in the girls bathroom, rapping Nipsey songs."
"I can't either." Simone laughs as we walk down the hallway together. "I don't know about you but I definitely needed that."
"Same here, we should do it again."
"I am so down, I'll probably be in there throwing up again and you'll probably be in there crying."
"Yeah, lets not make that a habit." I tell her as I come to a stop at the corner of the hallway, coming to a stop at the corner of the hallway. "Well, I actually do have go to second period, don't forget to text me your address."
"I won't, I'll see you later."
Simone waves at me and I return the wave before we're force to part ways by the people in the hallway, she turns the corner and I keep straight. Did I just make a new girl friend who isn't already friends with any of my friends? Besides Kia and Coop, who I grew up with, any of the female friend I have made have always been through somebody — I basically met Olivia through Coach, I met Patience through Coop, and I met Layla through Olivia. I planned to stop at my locker to unload my bag instead of carrying them on my shoulder all day, but my plans are quickly canceled when I see Olivia and Spencer talking in front of my locker. They're definitely going to ambush me about not being in first period, I don't have first period with Olivia but she always waits outside my classes so we can walk the halls together. And I have class with Spencer so he definitely told her that I wasn't in class which is why she couldn't find me after first period, and that's definitely a conversation I am going to avoid having right now.
Deciding to stop at my locker another time I turn on my heels in attempt to escape them but end up bumping into somebody, getting ready to apologize but the apology dies on my lips when I see it's Jordan. "Hey, you"
"Hey, you." He mocks my high pitch tone, chuckling he takes my bag and sling it over his shoulder then use his free arm to hold my hand. "I need your advice on something, I have this really hot girl as my lab partner and usually she checks over our work before we turn it in to make sure we get a passing grade. But today she completely ditched first period and left me to struggle to do our work by myself."
