(Y/n) (Y/l/n) led Luna Lovegood and Neville Longbottom along the path to her favourite creek. The sky was darkening with each passing moment and Neville was quietly voicing his concerns about either getting lost or eaten. All three teenagers wore clothes that they did not mind getting dirty on their hunt for Moon Frogs."Careful," (Y/n) advised after nearly slipping on a stone that Luna remembered (Y/n) had slipped on four summers ago. Luna and Neville both took her advice and crossed with caution. Neville had slipped and fallen into the shallow water, pulling gasps from the girls.
"I'm all right," Neville said dismissively when (Y/n) made to help him back to his feet. With Neville quickly getting back up and following the girls, they all pulled out their small flashlights as they went. It wasn't long before they reached the spot Luna and (Y/n) had declared as theirs oh-so-many summers ago.
(Y/n) hopped up onto the docks and peered around, shining her flashlight around. Luna turned off her own flashlight before pulling down one of the pairs of night vision goggles (Y/n) learned that she apparently had made. Neville, not wishing to be alone in the dark, opted to join Luna in her search of the croaking frogs near the dock (Y/n) stood on. While they looked, (Y/n) dug through her drawstring back in search of a camera."Maybe we will be lucky this year, Lu," (Y/n) said, using her camera as her nocturnal eyes due to the fact that she had given Neville her other pair of goggles.
"Fingers crossed," Luna said lightly.
"You're sure we won't be eaten?" Neville asked. "Or bitten and we'll catch rabies? What if there are leeches in that water?" What if a mosquito bites us?"
"The most dangerous things in these woods are deers," Luna stated. "And I doubt we're getting eaten by deers anytime soon... And there isn't enough water in that creek for leeches to live in... As for this body of water, I'm not sure... Mum never let (Y/n) and I swim in it and even with her gone, we still haven't." Luna and Neville both took a large step away from the water and (Y/n) grinned. "I guess mosquitos are something to worry about though... The only blood access they have are animals and I personally don't want any animal blood in my veins... Same can be said about rabies but I've never seen rabid animals."
"Well, you guys are awfully lucky," Neville said.
"Or you're awfully unlucky," Luna said in reply.
"Have you caught rabies before, Nev?" (Y/n) asked.
"No..."
"I have," (Y/n) said, frowning.
"And survived to tell the tale!" Luna said optimistically.
"You are right," (Y/n) nodded.
"It's very impressive, surviving," Neville agreed.
"Right, well telling people I have survived rabies is not exactly what every person is going to applaud me for," (Y/n) said.
"You really weren't joking when you said you've had your fair share of hospital visits, were you?" Neville asked.
"I have broken a good number of bones," (Y/n) said nonchalantly. "And I was extremely isolated as a child so I never got to build up a good immune system." Neville looked at (Y/n) with sympathy that went unseen. "You guys want to race slinkies when we get home?"
"Race, what?"
"Sure," Luna nodded.
"You will see," (Y/n) told Neville. "Not much to a slinky, is there?"
"Bored of studying?" Luna guessed as she and Neville lingered just outside of (Y/n)'s already open door.
