Andrae's POV
"Who the fuck are you." I managed to ask, backing away from Sierra.
Ash stood up, panicked, "What the hell is going on, Andrae sit down, you look like you're gonna pass out." Ash tried calming me down, forcing me to sit down. He grabbed onto my arms, pushing me onto the sofa.
I flung my arms, breaking free from his grasp. "No! I will not sit down!" I stared at Sierra.
Her eyes started to water, and she covered her mouth, "I-I'm sorry."
"What do you mean, you're sorry? Why didn't you tell me? Who are you?" I choked out.
The tears started to fall down her face, one by one, until she turned her face. I buried my face in my hands, closing my eyes. I breathed in and out, slowly. I don't even know what's going on anymore.
"I'll leave you guys to talk." Ash said, and I heard him run up the stairs, and slam a door. Probably went into my room.
I moved my hands, looking at Sierra.
"Sit down, we seriously need to talk." I told her, my voice barely above a whisper. I really didn't know what to think about the situation.
My bro, is actually my girlfriend. Is D.J truly a girl, or Sierra just faking to be a boy?
I watched as she sat down, and I sat across from her.
"Talk." I demanded, more angry than upset.
This whole time, I didn't know, that this was going on.
"About what?" she responded, not looking at me. Head bent down, she was picking at her fingers.
"Who the fuck are you. D.J, or Sierra. Explain that whole phone thing too. When you texted me, why didn't it pop under D.J, but as a new, unknown number when you're using the same phone?"
"You go into settings, and into messages. You can change the number you send and receive from." She explained in a hushed voice.
I let out a shaky sigh, "I can't believe you lied to me. Who are you?"
She looked up at me, her eyes wet. "Sierra."
I ran a hand through my hair, bunching them into fists every now and then.
"How are you D.J?"
"I-I fake it. My dad always wanted a boy, and when I came out, they changed my document. My mom paid them, she paid them for my life. My mom's a doctor, so instead of going to a clinic, she takes care of me at her office. She fills in all the information needed for a boy, when she just checks me up as a girl."
"Its not that easy, is it? It can't be." I whispered in a hushed tone.
"When you have money, its not as hard as it seems." She said.
"All those times.. Times I talked to you, when you..you faked to be D.J, you were Sierra, that whole time. Our friendship has been based of a lie!" I told her.
She looked at me, a pained look in her eyes, that made my heart clench. I finally knew why I felt the same for D.J and Sierra, now.
This whole time, they were just one person.
"It was not based on a lie." She stood up, staring down at me, and I stood up too.
I looked at her, as she yelled at me, her hands curled into fists.
"It was not a lie! Just because I couldn't tell you who I really was, doesn't mean our friendship was based on a lie! Don't you think I wanted to tell you? Do you even know how hard it was for me? No, you don't. You don't know those times, where I longed for a friend who was a girl, and I could talk to her about girl stuff. Do you know how hard it was, to hide every time I had a period, and I was in the boys bathroom?" Her breathing was uneven, she was pissed.
She shook her head, "You're so goddamn selfish, yelling at me, when I wanted to tell you in the first place! You act like everybody else knew, and you're just now finding out. You're not! My own dad doesn't even know. What gives you the right to yell at me, for being forced to live my life as a boy! 17 years, Andrae." Sierra turned around, walking towards the front door. She unlocked it, leaving the house. The door slammed loudly, leaving me to stand there, taking in what just happened.
Shit. I so did not see that coming.
I sat down on the sofa, taking in what happened.
I'm such an asshole. I shouldn't have yelled at her. Shit. I have to make this right.
"Ash, watch the house!" I yelled, before standing up, and hearing an 'okay' back.
I ran out the house, kicking the door to close it.
I started to run towards her house when I saw Samuel.
He pulled out his phone quickly, and typed,"Where you going?"
I stopped, looking at him. "Dude, D.J is actually Sierra, we got into an argument, I have to make things right."
He grinned, putting his phone away. He gave me a thumbs up, and I smiled back.
"See you when I get back, Ash is inside the house."
He waved at me, and I ran for what seemed like hours.
I finally got to her house.
I started walking up towards the door, and I closed my eyes, taking a deep breath.
My stomach was tied into knots, and I was dizzy.
You can do this Andrae. You can do it.
