Laurie wails in pain and thrashes her legs wildly as she's carried, hitting the ground with a agonized mewl and staring up at the mysterious stranger who's deemed her unlucky enough to make his acquaintance. She tries to shift backwards but gags when he grips her throat, hyperventilating as her fear rips her resolve and sound thinking to shreds.
"L-let me go! I want my mom. I want my dad. I don't want to die here. This isn't what I want!" She begs, "Please! Please please.." She sobs harder from pain and distress, her eyes clenching shut to avoid looking.
Michael's breath slows, and he softens his grip on Laurie's throat at the words mom and dad. Little did she know he had killed her fake parents earlier this evening. The words made him remember back to when he was a boy. He hated his dad. His mom was okay, she came to visit him while he was at Smith Grove's Sanitarium before she died. Did he miss his mom? No, he can't. His family must die and he must accept that. He realigns his gaze toward Laurie, who for a split second reminded Michael of their mother. She looked just like her. His breathing grows rapidly again as he snaps himself back to the present moment. He holds Laurie down with his left hand, and raises the knife above her chest with the right, getting ready to stab-
Laurie's hips arch upwards and her knee slams into the killer's groin; digging her teeth deep into the hand holding her down, ripping a plump chunk of flesh free from the muscles and bones. His blood runs from her mouth and her body seems to burst back to life at the taste of his blood. She swings her legs, swats her hands, punches, and does everything she can in his grip to throw him to the side. She takes a chance and rolls out from underneath him, sliding her knees under herself and pushing herself to her feet with her good arm. Her feet are unsteady as she stumbles back towards the stairs, her hands scrabbling for a piece of the banister to use as a weapon.
Michael recoils back in pain, looking down at his injured hand in rage. He takes a few moments to realign himself before picking the knife back up and heading to the stairs. He groans softly as he walks. He's not scared, not at all. This is all part of the game. Let her fight back, it won't matter in the end anyway.
Laurie's hands shake and she steps forward, her injured arm screaming as she swings the piece of banister right towards the face of her tormentor. It hits home and shatters along the cheekbone of the latex face. She drops the now useless chunk of wood and charges with her good shoulder straight into Michael's chest, knocking them both back down the stairs in a violent flurry of limbs and shards of wood. Laurie is the first to stand. Her long legs carry her across the room and into the kitchen where she throws open every drawer in search of a blade while her attacker lies still at the bottom of the steps. Her hands slide along the handles, her blood making her own skin stick to itself. The pain threatens to take over again, but her resolve stands stronger. She rips another drawer from the counter, its contents spilling everywhere. She still finds no blade. Her search continues on.
