it was a friday afternoon, english class was about to end yet i wasn't paying attention in class
i place my chin on the palm of my hand as a stare blankly outside of the window
i haven't been paying attention in class ever since i got that letter
it started to bother me to the point that i couldn't keep track of time during class hours
i don't know why it bothered me so much.. it was just a harmless letter
but i couldn't help but overthink
what if the person who sent me that letter likes me or.. love me? but there's also a possibility that they sent me that letter just for fun, to play with my feelings
i speak out of experience

i flinch after i felt a hand place on my shoulder
i move my head to see who it was and saw a girl with a hip-length jet black hair with purple highlights styled in a hime cut. her eyes are a rich red with prominent red makeup painted at the corners
she's my only classmate who i'm close with
my other close friends were in different classrooms so i felt quite lonely until i met her

y/n sat there, gripping her hands on her black skirt as she looked down
'i feel so lonely. my close friends are in different classes.. should i talk to someone?.. but i have zero social skills.. AAAAA' y/n was internally screaming in her mind, not noticing that there was someone standing in front of her desk
the unfamiliar girl tapped y/n's shoulder startling her
y/n swung her head up and she saw the most cutest girl she had ever since
the unknown girl grinned as she placed her right hand in between their gap
"hi! i'm yun jin! i'm your seatmate!" she cheerfully introduced herself "wanna be friends?" she asked, hoping y/n would accept her proposal
y/n was astonished
she blank two times before answering
"i-i'd love to! i hope we'll be good friends starting today!" y/n awkwardly replied

"you've been spacing out during class these days.. what happened?" yun jin asked, concerned yet curious in her tone
"oh.. it's nothing. just a lot of minor stuff going on in my mind, haha" i awkwardly laughed it off as i was packing my bag
"hm. alright, just tell me if something major happened. i'll try to help" my friend replied, not convinced
"copy that" i said before standing up after i was done packing "let's go"
yun jin nods at me, afterwards we leave the classroom

"i'm gonna go to the bathroom first! i'll meet you in the school gate!" the black haired girl informed as she was running towards the bathroom
i chuckle at her silliness before heading towards my locker
i don't know why but i kept checking my locker to see if there was gonna be another letter inside..
what surprised me was that there actually was another envelope when i opened my locker
my eyes widened before snatching it to read it
it was another wholesome and touching poem
without noticing, my lips formed into a small soft smile whilst reading the poem
'quite cheesy..' i thought
"y/n!" a female voice cried out behind me
i snap back into reality and immediately threw the envelope inside the locker before locking it
"i thought we agreed to meet at the school gate?" yun jin exclaimed, pouting at me as her brows furrowed
"pfft- sorry" i snicker due to her face
"yeah yeahhh, let's go now!" she said
the red eyed girl snatched my arm before walking towards the school exit
we both live in the same neighborhood so we always walk home together
well, me and xiao live beside each other but we only walk together when we go to school
aside from that, i decided to tell my friends about the newly arrived letter when i get back home
i hope I'll get to meet this mysterious person soon.. but why do i feel a bit agitated?
