Coffee breath

"Good morning," Josh said on the other end of the phone.

"Morning" you said sleepy he had woken you up.

"Did you just wake up?" Josh questioned you.

"Yeah that's okay what's up?" You said

"Are you busy today? There's a new coffee shop in town if you'd like to check it out with me" josh said.

"Yeah that sounds lovely, give me an hour" you said, hiding your excitement. He really wanted to hang out. ALONE just you and him. You weren't so ahead of yourself after all.

An hour later you were in his jeep driving a couple minutes down the road. You didn't even really like coffee, but you liked him so who cares.  It was a beautiful morning. Josh was glowing in the sunlight peeking through the car windows. The music was perfect. He was perfect. How was it you've only known him for about a month and it felt like you've known him forever? After about 20 minutes you arrived.

"Stay," he said, getting out of the car.

"Stay? What the fuck" you said to yourself before realizing what he meant. He walked around the car to open your door. You were shocked by his kindness. No one has ever treated you this way. You weren't quite sure how to handle it.

"Oh thank you Josh"  you said, grabbing your wallet and stepping out of the car.

"Leave it, I'll pay" josh said.

"I wouldn't ask you to do that" you said unsure.

"You're not asking me, I am telling you. It's really not a big deal. Please let me" Josh begged. You agreed and set down your wallet. You'd pay next time for sure. You wouldn't let him waste his money on you.

You both ordered your coffee and we're waiting for them. Meanwhile, the two of you were making small talk. He was telling you a short story about a hike he went on, and you were telling him about your favorite song.

"Ah yes that's a good one. We should listen to it on the way back" Josh smiled at you while grabbing your drinks.

"Good idea" you smiled back while taking your drink.

You picked a spot for you two to sit. You ended up swapping drinks to try each other's. Josh's was definitely better.

"I'll have to order that next time. It's better" you laughed.

"You can have it" Josh said holding it out to you "I like yours better". After you finished your drinks you left the shop, and he did what he said and played your song for you. You two were joy riding for a while before he dropped you back off. You thanked him multiple times before walking back into your house. You immediately texted Sam and told him what went down.

He replied with "I have never seen Josh do that with anyone. You must be special". That gave you hope. Maybe just maybe could you stand a chance with him. Oh Joshua.
