Amity Blight was not stupid. That didn't mean she didn't make stupid choices. Because here she was, getting into Luz Noceda's car, who is absolutely inviting her to skip class and be a delinquent as a trap. She's going to be pantsed, have her phone stolen, be thrown in some mud, and left to walk home, all the span of one second. She just knew it.

And she got in the car anyway. Because for some unfathomable reason, she was trusting Luz Fucking Noceda.

As Luz got ready to leave the parking lot, the bass from her cars speakers suddenly began rattling Amity's fucking eyeballs. It became pretty obvious who the douchebag driving around late at night was. She covered her ears and looked over at Luz, who was, regardless of how loud and intense this song was, nodding her head along in the most relaxed way. She glanced over, took note of Amity's distress, sighed, and flicked her thumb to skip to the next track.

Teenagers, by My Remical Chodemance. A song Amity knew by heart. So when Luz began singing, Amity immediately felt strange. Luz was getting into it, hand motions and everything.

Are you really going to sing along with her ?

She was absolutely going to sing along with her bully. Only because she has to sing this song every time she hears it. Not because it seemed like a lot of fun to sing along with Luz. Absolutely not. Amity was 100% sure.

By the time the song had come to an end, with Amity and Luz laughing their asses off from the experience, Luz had finally noticed they were where she wanted to go, and pulled her car into a parking spot with a jerk. Amity quickly reached a hand out to stop herself from falling, and quickly blushed when she realized her hand had landed on Luz's thigh.

Maybe if I take my hand away quick enough she won't notice. Or slow enough? No, definitely quick.

Either way, Luz had noticed, because Amity hadn't decided by the time the car had shut off. And now they were staring at each other.

"You good, Blight?"

Amity quickly sat up, the blush pushing up her neck and invading her cheeks.

"Yep! All good!" she said, wow her voice was way too squeaky.

Luz stepped out of the car, locking it behind Amity, as she made her way out onto the beach. She stretched and took a deep breath, the smell of the ocean filling her nose and the clean air refreshing her. Amity tentatively followed behind her, stepping out onto the sand. She took a deep breath herself, and even she had to admit it was really relaxing. Her shoulders fell a bit, and for a moment, she forgot she was standing with her bully.

"Follow me, loser."

Amity rolled her eyes, following Luz as she led the way down to the water and up the quieter side of the beach.

"God, it's been a while since I've sung that song," Amity said, desperate for something to talk about.

"Same here. Look at us, singing a song that's just bitching about highschool as a couple of 20 somethings."

"20. 20 on the dot. Don't make me feel old."

Luz turned her head and smirked.

"I didn't realize I was older than you, Blight."

"Bullshit," Amity said, doing her best to fight back her smile.

"22," Luz smirked, spinning on her heel to walk backwards, "And livin' the fuckin' dream."

Amity rolled her eyes again, and her smile won the battle as she opted to look at the ground.

It took her a minute to realize how far they were from the other people on the beach. Talk about music and why My Remical Chodemance broke up and why they still haven't given the fans what they've really wanted, or why Luz always wore that stupid jacket even though it was blistering out, made the time pass pretty quick.
