"Fear And Self-Doubt Have Always Been The Greatest Enemies Of Human Potential" ~Brian Tracy
The words echoed throughout Izuku's skull, his entire body shaking with nothing but pure rage as Bakugou's goons laughed at him, all 3 turning around and walking out of the classroom. A small breeze blew through the classroom, the windows shaking, the curtains swaying slightly as Izuku grit his teeth, hand on the classroom's radiator. His eyes glowed for a second as he squeezed his hand hard, turning to Bakugou with a look of fury, only to be promptly shut down when Bakugou lit a few sparks in his hands. Izuku's drive to fight instantly disappeared as he sighed and looked down once again.
"Wow, I thought he'd have at least a little fight in him" One of his goons laughed as all 3 exited the classroom.
Izuku only sighed as silent tears fell down his cheeks, his hand loosening and letting go of the radiator. Slowly, he pushed himself up and brushed his front off, picking his bag up as he slowly dragged his feet across the ground to exit the classroom, leaving behind a few small cracks on the floor and a hand print bent into the metal radiator.
Izuku slowly walked through the school halls, out of the school, and then down a street to where the train was so he could get home. His eyes were dull, completely empty of any emotion other than sadness before he looked over to his left, coming to a stop. In the small pond next to him was his notepad, floating in the water with a few fishes biting down on the edges and yanking it around the top of the water.
"Hey... stop that..." Izuku muttered weakly as he reached into the water and took his notepad back.
With that small stop, he continued his walk towards the train station, letting out a massive sigh before he took a deep breath, staring up at the sky. He couldn't let this get him down. If everyone gave up this easily, no one would get anywhere in life. All Might wouldn't have quit so neither will he! With a hearty deep laugh, Izuku continued his march home, walking under a stone bridge as he did. Life, however, had other plans for the boy. As he stepped over the metal drain, the sinister sound of laughter flooded the inner walls, echoing and bouncing off the walls as the ground beneath him shook violently. Izuku's eyes widened in fear as a strange green goop suddenly engulfed him.
"Stop struggling! I was robbing a store when that pesky hero appeared. Who would've guessed HE of all people would be here?! Thanks, Kid! You're my hero!"
Izuku's eyes shook in fear as he violently ripped at the slime that was forcing its way down his throat, covering his nose and mouth, preventing him from breathing. His body thrashed, shook, and screamed to get free but no matter what he did, it all seemed pointless. Suddenly, that same feeling of rage appeared once again, Izuku's eyes glowing for a split second before a gust of wind appeared from the sewers underneath.
"Sorry, but I can't let you do that" A strange unknown voice spoke as an orb of orange energy flew forward, hitting the villain before it imploded from the inside, exploding the slime villain across the walls like butter across warm toast.
"A... All might?" Izuku whispered weakly as he slowly fell to the ground.
The last thing he saw was an orange outfit, black hair, and a small, cheeky smile before whoever they were vanished out of nowhere.
"Hey! Wake Up!" A loud voice boomed as Izuku felt a slapping sensation on the side of his face.
Slowly, Izuku's body woke up from the shock he had experienced at the villain attack that had just taken place. He groaned softly as he sat up, grabbing his head softly as he yawned and looked around, his memory fuzzy at what happened. Slowly, he began putting a face to the figure that saved him when the man in front of him caught his eye.
"y-y-y-you're AllMight?!" Izuku yelled, completely forgetting what had happened, eyes sparkling as he smiled widely at the man in front of him. "Oh! Can you sign my notebook- YOU ALREADY DID?!".
Izuku's smile only got wider and wider when he realized that AllMight had signed his signature across two pages of Izuku's notebook. He felt a sudden burst of energy, jumping from the ground and standing straight, bowing his head over and over again as he rambled of random nonsense before he saw that AllMight was stretching his legs.
"All right kid, step back. It's dangerous to be close when I take off!" All Might stated as he crouched down.
"Go? Wait, I still have so many questions to ask..." Izuku thought as a burst of energy spread through him.
As All Might pushed his feet down, his body straightened and he shot into the sky like a rocket, soaring through the air with little care for anything. That went on for a few seconds before he felt an odd weight grabbing at his leg, his eyes wandering down as he spotted familiar green hair and a terrified face.
"What the?! Kid let go!" All Might yelled as he shook his leg and pushed on his face.
"I can't! If I let go, I'll die!" Izuku screamed fearfully, which caused All Might to stop trying to get him off.
"Oh, right. Hold on!" All Might yelled as steam began to pour off him slightly, blood trailing out his mouth as he growled and landed on a roof.
Izuku let go of his shorts, stumbling forward a little before he fell onto his hands and knees, panting like crazy as his eyes spun like a washing machine, his entire body shaking from the experience. His heart bumped against his ribcage, threatening to shatter his bones and burst right out of his chest.
"Bang on the door a little and someone will let you down" All Might stated as he turned to jump away, steam pouring off a little more.
"Wait! I have to ask you something!" Izuku yelled as he got up, turning to face the hero.
"No..." All Might muttered under his breath, Izuku not hearing him.
"Ever since I was a young boy, I've dreamed of becoming a hero, to save everyone I can with a smile on my face" Izuku started.
"I'm sorry Izuku"
"No one believes I can do it. I often get bullied by my classmates for having an unachievable dream like that, especially when I have no quirk"
"You'll never be a hero Deku!"
"But I've never let them get to me. I kept working hard to become a hero, I do whatever I can to learn everything about them. So I want to ask... Can I be a hero without a quirk?!" He yelled as he looked up at All...Might?
Stood in front of him was no longer a massive muscle man with a large smile but instead a shriveled old man with thin boney arms and a frown. He was hunched over forward, staring at the kid with a rather strange look. Izuku froze in place, unable to process that there was someone else standing in front of him.
"AAAAAAAH! ALL MIGHT?! No! You're an imposter!" Izuku yelled as he pointed at him.
"Calm down kid, I promise you that I am All Might" He stated as he stated. "You know how at the pool, some guys will suck in their gut to look big? yeah, I'm like that".
"I-impossible..." Izuku muttered. "All Might is a massive guy who saves everyone with a smile on his face!".
"I'm counting on you to keep quiet, don't say a word," All Might said as he slowly slid down the railing, sitting down before he pulled his shirt up to reveal a bad wound. "Pretty gross, huh? I got this in a fight 5 years ago. My whole respiratory system was destroyed and I lost my whole stomach. All my surgery has worn me down so I can't do hero work for more than 3 hours..."
"No... Wait, 5 years? You mean the fight with toxic chainsaw?!"
"You know your stuff but no. The punk landed a few hits but he couldn't beat me. This was a different fight, one no one knows about" All Might explained to Izuku. "Pro heroes are constantly putting their lives on the line but some villains can't be stopped without powers. So, to answer your question, I don't think you can be a hero without a quirk".
Those words shattered Izuku's entire reality, his eyes dilating as all light left his eyes in a flood of small tears. All Might stared at the kid and sighed softly, watching as his head dropped down before feeling a small gust of wind blow past him suddenly. He looked for the source and saw that Izuku was emitting a powerful gust. His hands were balled into tight fists, his teeth grit as he muttered out 3 words.
"You... Fucking... HYPOCRITE!"
