petals fall from the branches of life
i reach for them but they fall through the cracks of my fingers
they wither from my contagious touch
floating through a forever winter
a tiny glimpse of spring i run towards
but my feet are stagnant in the snow
i stumble and fall against winter's cold arms
and grasp the withering snow flower
against my lonesome chest
the promise of spring
is far in the distance
when will my season begin?
