here i sit
connected by a string
here i stand alone against myself
imagining her
and every part of me she owned
the me she forgot
the me that decomposes in her past
remembering her face and the skin i traced
and cursing myself for the memory i retain
i thought the more i bleed
the less i'll remember
but i carve another portrait
in my lifeless skin
and i still hear her voice
