"Jay?"
"Yes. Could you maybe remove the knife from my throat?"
"What the hell? Why would you do that?"
"Do what?"
"Sneak into here. At least announce yourself first."
"So some gang man can attack me?"
"What are you going on about?"
"Hank set up cameras oustide of the house. We saw the guys but we didn't see you."
"Yeah, I hid."
"Why didn't you run?"
"What, so they could torch the place?"
"Why would they torch the place?"
"I don't know."
"Did you hear them talking?"
"No."
"You sure?"
"Yep."
"What's this?" Asked Jay as he reached into her bag and pulled out the box.
He flipped it open and held it above his head so Abi couldn't reach it. He dropped the box as he read a few of the letters.
"What is this, Abi?"
"I don't know."
"You clearly do otherwise you wouldn't try and hide them."
"I've just found them."
"Bullshit, Abi."
"How would you know!?"
"Because all you ever do is lie. You keep secrets."
"I have the right to keep secrets. I don't know you and you sure as hell don't know me."
"Stop fighting, kid."
"My name is, Abi or Abigail. Not kid."
"Listen, Abi. We are trying to keep you safe."
"Just solve the murder of my grandma. That way, I can get out of your lives and you can get out of mine."
"Abi."
"I'm going to walk to the district now. Have a good ride home."
Abi picked up her stuff, including the box but Jay wouldn't hand the letters over. She stared at him, waiting for him to pass them over but he didn't.
"You can't take that!" He shouted and ran after her as she walked off with his gun.
"And you can't take my letters. Hand them over."
"No."
"Then you can explain to your boss why you haven't got your gun."
"Abi."
"Letters for the gun."
"No."
"Fine. Enjoy."
"Okay. Okay. Fine, here you go."
Jay went to hand over the letters but instead grabbed Abi's wrist, twisting it. She dropped to her knees as he shoved it behind her back and pushed her to the floor.
"Now, let's get in the car. Shall we?"
He slapped cuffs onto her wrists and then helped her into the front. Once he was in, he locked the doors and began driving.
"Hank's going to hate you for this."
"Oh yeah?"
"Yep."
