Morgana's POV

After the ball hit the back of the net, I held in an excited scream. But I ran to Hatchy, whop gave me that pass.

I jumped on her back, because I needed to make hr feel like the hero. She deserved that, but she gave it to me instead.

Everyone was trying to give me high fives, but I had my arms wrapped around Hatchy's neck. She's gotta get them, not me.

I threw one arm up in the air when they announced thee goal, and everyone cheered.

I jumped off her back, running past all the disappointed Canadians.

The ref called the game almost immediately after the kickoff, and I immediately burst into tears.

The whole team came running to me, and I admit it felt great.

But I was looking for Mal, and only Mal.

I saw her in the crowd with her wrist wrapped up. Her lip was a bit swollen, but her smile was still as adorable.

"Man, I love you." She said, giving me a big hug.

"You're so awesome." Sanchez smiled.

"Unbelievable." Said Trinity.

"Morgana for MVP!" Kelley said. "You did good, kid. Real good. You're something special."

It feels good to be special like this.

We all got our CONCACAF  CHampions t-shirts, and I replaced my jersey with mine. I ran it over to Hayley, and let her keep it.

She wanted to come down with us, but I told her there was going to be something special happening so she couldn't.

I ran back to join the team, and there was about a million pictures taken before the stage came out and we started getting awards.

I got MVP and the Golden Boot, because I scored almost 3 times the amount of goals that the next closest girl scored. And then the MVP because of this game, and the record breaking game I had a few nights ago.

They usually don't do that, but I was apparently the exception.

Canada's goalkeeper, Kailen Sheridan, got the golden glove.

This was for sure a core memory for me, walking on the stage and getting those awards.

Then Canada got their  second place medals, and then we got our golden first place ones.

We were supposed to get them in number order, but because of me putting down my awards I was last in line.

But they all let me to the front with Becky and Kelley to lift the trophy. Front and center.

There were a million more pictures after that with everyone. I got one with Mal and Alyssa with the trophy for the Red Stars, I got one with just Mal where we were both kidding the trophy, and one with our group. Sophia had decided not to leave, because she wanted to see us win it all. So I got one with her, Mal, Sanchez, Hatchy, Trinity and Kelley, our little group. The best one in the world.

Then there was a million more in the locker room.

A bottle of champagne was popped on me, but I didn't drink at all, even though it's legal in Mexico.

It was the most special night of my life. Everyone made me feel like a hero, and I put aside all of my sadness for a while.

I would have loved for Lena to be here to have seen this. I'm living her dream right now. This was her dream before it was mine, and she was an even better soccer player than I ever was.

I had to go talk to the reporters, and I almost cracked and cried but I didn't.

My last lines were: "This night, this feeling, this happiness, these awards, I owe it to my family, my coaches, and my beyond amazing teammates. Thank you, Ashley Hatch for helping me fix this hole in my heart. And thank you, Mallory Pugh, for being my best friend. My #1 fan, my biggest supporter, and....thanks for being everything I need. Thank you for bring my cure."

Sorry for the long wait between updates! I completely forgot I waited so long to update this. But Mal had one hell of a game last night (in real life)! If you didn't see it, USWNT beat Canada 2-0 and Mal scored both goals. Crazy.

Also, if anybody here's reading Little Sanchez, one if the the stories I have published, I wanted to just say that the next chapter of that's gonna be pretty sad, but if you haven't checked it out, you definitely should!

Anyway, hope you all enjoyed this chapter and there will be less of a wait between updates next time! Thanks y'all :)
