Morgana's POV

I was groggy when I woke up. My head was pounding, my side and back aching.

I was hooked up to some machines, and I felt some sort of pressure on my right hand.

It took me about 5 seconds to start realizing these things

I was scared, because I didn't understand any of the words going around me.

Then that's when I heard it.

The sound that I wanted to hear so badly.

Her voice.

I came up with the strength to turn my head toward her, which actually wasn't too hard.

I smiled, and saw that it was her holding my hand.

"Morgana?" She said happily, standing up.

I made my smile bigger, and she started to cry.

"You're awake!"

I nodded my head.

She squealed with happiness as she grabbed my phone and called someone.

"SHE'S AWAKE!" She yelled, and it hurt my ears, but it also made me happy.

It was my mom and dad on the other end, and they screamed with joy too.

They talked a lot, and then she facetimed them so I could basically just smile at them.

"Morgana! How are you feeling?" My mom asked.

"Sore." I whispered and smiled, and everyone laughed.

I looked around the room. There were flowers. The curtains were open, but it was dark outside. The light came from some overhead lights. The TV was on but muted, and doctors were filtering in. Some were talking to Mal and my parents in English, and then Hatchy walked in.

I smiled at her, and she gave me the biggest smile ever. She came over, and I was just looking at her and Mal, and I felt right.

"I just called Trinity to know you were okay." She said.

I nodded, and she went to go call some of the other girls as if they weren't all huddled together in one room waiting for the call. I knew they were.

I wanted to say something to Mal, because I knew I could.

"Mal I love you." I said, and watched her start crying immediately.

"I love you too, Morgana."

----------

I had a bunch of issues, so I was in the hospital for 2 more days just to be safe. Then they cleared me to fly on a real airplane. I still somehow didn't have a concussion, which I don't think is even possible. It's just a freak thing, the doctors said.

I had to get checked on right when I got home as well, and they asked whether I was flying into Chicago to be at my apartment, or whether I was flying to Denver to be with my parents.

We ultimately decided on Chicago, so I didn't have to fly again any time soon to watch us in the playoffs even though we got a bye week. My parents would meet us there.

Obviously it was unlikely I'd play in the next game even though we had a bye week, but there was still a chance I could if I felt good enough. I was feeling fine as we boarded the flight home, so I was hopeful.

When we got home finally, Danny Colaprico picked us up from the airport. She loaded my bags into the back for me, and I just got in the back seat with my head leaning on the window.
