Curlstar touched her nose to each cats' heads.

"I wish you all the luck StarClan can get. Please, just get some feasible offer for them to stop. Go on."

Webflower blinked at her leader and sighed, dipping her head.

"We'll try, Curlstar. You can count on us." Icesight mewed. He turned to the rest of the patrol; Cloudeyes, Larchstep, Bloompuddle, Webflower, Juniperbite, and Morningsky. "Let's go." He mewed firmly, padding towards the camp entrance.

Webflower glanced hesitantly at Curlstar, who seemed to be staring off at nothing, but quickly hurried after her patrol.

She and some other warriors were being sent to ThunderClan camp to debate a peace treaty. She hoped this wouldn't go wrong.

She and the patrol wandered in complete silence for a while until approaching the ThunderClan border.

Icesight used his tail, holding it up to signal a stop.

"Hm. Let's go directly to camp, we have no time to wait for a patrol to come to us. Let's pray to StarClan that things don't end badly." The deputy meowed, continuing to walk. The patrol hurried through ThunderClan territory, ears flicking at every noise, whether it be a crack of a twig or the crinkling of dead leaves.

Finally, they got to the ThunderClan camp entrance.

Icesight took a deep breath. "Ready?" He mewed to the patrol. They all dipped their heads in confirmation and they all headed down the tunnel.

Webflower took the lead beside Icesight and glanced around camp. It was half-empty, a few warriors hurried around camp while the others stopped and stared.

Icesight anxiously approached a warrior and meowed as confidently as he could, "We wish to speak to your leader-"

"Why?" The warrior hissed suspiciously.

"To talk out a peace treaty. Curlstar sent us."

"Why'd she send so many warriors?" Another ThunderClanner piped up.

"For protection." Larchstep hissed. Cloudeyes cuffed the top over his ear and hissed at him to shut up.

"Hmph. Fine. Our leader's den is just over here." The first warrior meowed, turning and flicking his tail.

Webflower sighed in relief and the patrol followed.

"Only one or two cats in his den at a time." The warrior mewed sarcastically.

Icesight hesitated. "Cloudeyes, come with me inside. The rest of you stay out here. Stay safe." He whispered the last part then he and Cloudeyes rushed to follow the warrior up the rock into the leader's den.

"I hope they'll be okay," Bloompuddle mewed worriedly.

"They'll be okay. Icesight and Cloudeyes are some experienced warriors." Juniperbite meowed.

"All we need to worry about is these mange-pelted rats of ThunderClan warriors around us." Morningsky hissed quietly to the patrol. "I don't like the way they're lookin' at me."

Webflower glanced around the camp. A few kits were running around after one another with two queens sitting outside the nursery watching them.

A couple warriors were crouched over the prey pile, filled with prey like voles, squirrels, birds and a small rabbit.

A couple more warriors were in the clearing sharing tongues and a few were simply keeping an eye on the patrol as they waited.

She felt anxious of their cold, suspicious stares. She then saw a more familiar face, the face of the tom that Morningsky had been meeting with. He was next to a hefty she-cat warrior who groomed his pelt affectionately. She looked familiar- Webflower figured that she was the same warrior from the ambush battle patrol she participated in.

They look very similar. Maybe they're related.

Webflower licked her chest fur and grumbled to herself. How long would this take? She didn't want to be here any longer!

"Webflower, calm down. It's gonna be fine." Bloompuddle mewed softly.

"I feel uncomfortable."

"We all do." Juniperbite mewed sarcastically. "These cats are ruthless and we're sitting, outnumbered, in their camp."

"Yeah, but something feels off." Webflower murmured.

"I feel it too." Larchstep meowed. "Something is definitely wrong."

"You're prolly just nervous-" Juniperbite huffed, glaring at a small group of apprentices.

"Where are half the warriors?" Larchstep said aloud.

"I-"

A kit ran over to the patrol, panting. "You! RiverClanners! Die!" The kit squeaked, tackling Morningsky's paw.

"Stop that, kit!" He hissed, thrusting his paw forward and making the kit fall backwards.

"Morningsky! Be gentle, that's a kit!" Bloompuddle scolded.

The kit hissed, unsheathed their tiny claws. "Once I'm done with you, you'll be the last RiverClan fishfaces!"

"What?" Larchstep meowed.

"Yeah! Like the big warriors I saw leaving! I want to be just like them and take out all the rival Clans! I'll make my mama so proud!"

"What?" Webflower hissed. "Big warriors leaving?"

"Yeah! Half the warriors going on a patrol to RiverClan, I heard! There's gonna be a big battle! Too bad I'm too young to see it. I wanna fight." The kit pouted.

The cats exchanged a glance before the kit scampered away after being called by their mother.

"We need to leave, now!" Bloompuddle hissed, springing up. "RiverClan is in danger! Why didn't we catch any scent of them sooner?!"

"What about Cloudeyes and Icesight?" Larchstep mewed worriedly.

"Don't worry, I got this-" Morningsky mumbled, climbing up the rocky slope to the leaders den. The pale tom peered into the den and gasped.

Cloudeyes was being pinned by the warrior, moss shoved in their mouth to silence them as the warrior had his claws at their throat.

Icesight was laying on the ground, back facing the entrance with the ThunderClan leader standing over him.

The cats glared up. "RiverClanner!" He spat.

"You traitors!" Morningsky disappeared into the den.

Webflower perked up in surprise. She leapt up and ran up the slope, running into the den.

"Webflower, no!"

The ginger cat leapt into the den, seeing her three Clanmates. Icesight laying on the ground, Morningsky pinned by the leader and Cloudeyes struggling under the warrior.

"Get off!" Webflower leapt at the warrior, landing on his back and making him tip and bounce.

"You water rat!" The warrior spat, bucking his hips. Webflower ducked her head to not hit her head on the roof of the den. She bit down on the warrior's back leg firmly, feeling blood fill her mouth.

The warrior cried with pain and tumbled backwards, about to crash into his leader. Webflower leapt off, causing the warrior to crush his leader against the wall and letting Morningsky slip out from under him.

"Thank StarClan!" The pale tom exclaimed. He rushed over to Webflower and Cloudeyes, panicking as they helped the older cat up and taking the moss out.

"We need to leave!"

"What about Icesight?"

"He's dead!" Cloudeyes spat. "There's no use in dragging him back! If we try to, we'll get caught and killed."

Morningsky seemed hesitant but nodded and the three rushed out.

Bloompuddle, Larchstep, and Juniperbite glanced hesitantly and fearfully at the three. "What happened in there-"

"We need to leave. Now!" Cloudeyes hissed, rushing towards the camp entrance.
