Chapter 10: New Threat. Old Enemy

"In a village called Hills. Six years later after last chapter"

Boruto walks down the street and eats an apple, he approaches his new house and sees a man with silver hair wearing a green vest, dark pants, boots, and a mask. Boruto sees a book in his hand. Boruto stops walking and looks at him

Boruto: Kakashi, what's up?

Kakashi puts his book in his pocket and looks at Boruto

Kakashi: June, Carlos, and Charlie were found dead near their car. I sent them on a supply run two weeks ago.

Boruto: You need me to track down their killers and the supplies they took.

Kakashi: Actually what's suprising is that the killers didn't take that. It looks like a combination of mutants and humans killed them. The claw and bite marks look like they came before the human inflicted injuries.

Boruto: The fact they didn't take supplies is suprising.

Kakashi: Farming Town lost two people who were on a supply run, too. Only one survived, she said that the mutants were speaking.

Boruto: Speaking mutants? They have weed or something?

Kakashi: Believe it or not, we don't know what we're facing, or who.

Boruto: Hmph. I'll head out now.

Kakashi: I'm assigning Kagura, and Buntan to your squad.

Boruto: I do better by myself.

Kakashi: I don't doubt that, but we have no idea what's out there, or who. We need this shit handled before the community alliance festival in three days.

Boruto: Fine. I'll get my crossbow.

Boruto walks to his door, Kakashi steps out of the way and Boruto goes inside, he walks back out with his crossbow on his shoulder and closes the door behind him

Kakashi: You three will be searching on foot.

Boruto: Fine with me.

"In the forest"

Boruto, Kagura, and Buntan walk in the forest and look around, normal birds fly over them

Buntan: What exactly are we looking for?

Kagura: Yeah same question.

Boruto: Look for footprints. Human and mutant.

Buntan wears a red shirt with black arm and shoulder gaurds, black pants with knee gaurds, and brown boots. Kagura wears a camo shirt and camo pants with brown boots, the same type of gaurds as Buntan. Boruto wears a black sleeveless vest with a red cotton shirt with the sleeves cut off to his elbows, black pants and black boots, he carries his crossbow They walk down a slope in the woods and find a river, a bridge with a roof up ahead, mutants going in from the left side of it

Boruto: C'mon.

They get to the bridge and see the ten mutants slowly walking to them

Buntan: Dibs.

Buntan takes out a glock and aims. Boruto looks at the eyes of one of the mutants and his eyes open more

Boruto: Wait.

Buntan lowers her gun. Boruto aims at the mutant with strange eyes and shoots it in the front leg, it yells in pain and all but one of the mutants jump on and starting eating it

Kagura: That wasn't a mutant.

Buntan: Holy shit!

They see the last mutant turn and slowly walk away
