You see I have a problem... a problem with names. I don't remember them.
Thus when you grace me with your presence a second time, all I can do is stare blankly. Because I remember everything about you, just not your name.
I remember the polite smile you introduced yourself with, the way your lips quirked up a little when you found something funny and how your cold eyes softened immeasurably.
"I'm sorry, could you repeat your name?" I ask in the awkward way of mine.
I expect you to put on your cold mask and shun me like others. You just smile "Maya".
