The best way to escape the loud world of Hogwart's greatest pranksters is simply the library. I'm on one of those days when I just want to have a nice, quiet afternoon with my girls. Do some homework or maybe read a novel, anything. I was alone at first just peering over at first years trying to tickle the giant squid's tentacles when Tori and Angelina joined me.We are now currently doing our Charms homework when we heard the usual laughter of some certain pranksters and the stern voice of the librarian, Madam Pince. I shook my head as I heard their laughter once again but nearer. Hearing him laugh is just music to my ears.
I glanced to the entrance of the library and saw my three obnoxiously loud friends leaning against the wall talking to Madam Pince. The three of them clasped their hands and went on their knees but Pince stood firm.
"Please, beautiful, old lady..."
"Lee, don't call her old," George hissed.
"Let me rephrase that..."
It took them a few minutes before she pinched the bridge of her nose and hesitantly nodded her head.
The rowdy boys took sent us cheeky grins and raced over, playfully pushing each other around making a few shelves wobble. Madam Pince's eyes grew wide and just as she was about to say something to the boys, George went and went to his knees and gave her a pout. The librarian narrowed her eyes at him and turned away. The smirks on Fred, George, and Lee only grew as they accomplished getting into the library considering how they were banned since 3rd year.
Fred plopped down on the chair beside me, putting his long legs on top of the table with his hands behind his head. I rolled my eyes at him and harshly pushed it off. Glancing back at Pince to make sure she didn't see Fred put his muddy shoes onto her precious table and books. He pouted and gave me puppy eyes to which I roll my eyes and continued my work with a small smile on my face.
"It's the first week and you're already doing boring stuff," he said rocking around in his chair.
"It's the first week and you've already got 18 detentions, Fredrick," I replied, trying to stay stern but he only gave me a cheeky grin.
"Trying to make it 25 by the end of the week, Elisaria," he joked.
I sighed put my quill down to cross my arms in front of my chest and gave him a playful glare. "What have you been doing, Fred?"
"Well," he looked up and scratched his chin recalling his achievements, "I gifted a bunch of dung bombs to Pucey so when he opens it'll explode. I then painted charmed the Slytherin common room to look like our pig's pen, I then gave Filch a charmed firework which accidentally-"
"Accidentally?" I scoffed, "yeah, right. You're not fooling me."
"I swear it was an accident! I would never mean to set Mr. Norris' tail on fire!
I covered my mouth with my hand and sat stunned by what I heard.
"I can't believe I missed that," I gasped.
He bit his bottom lip and his shoulders shook, chuckling quietly. His eyes sparked with adoration.
"What did you do next?" I asked timidly.
"Well I ran, of course!" he replied with a tone that sounds 'duh' and shrugged his shoulders as if it was the most obvious thing to do.
I rubbed my face and whined. Out of all the times I wanted to be alone Fred chose that moment to do the greatest thing in prank history. I have always wanted to do something to the little furball. I don't think Filch will let her beloved roam around on her own now.
