Today should be my day off, but because of yesterday's shenanigans, Mr. Young ordered me to come in till 2 p.m.
Walking inside, Duk-mi runs to me. "Dahae! You have a call at the reception desk, Mr. Spaghetti wants to drink coffee with you! I told him you're free in the afternoon"
What?! Why would she tell him that?
I murmur a thanks to her, taking the Call.
*Ongoing call*
Dahae: Hello, this is Min Dahae.
Unknown: Hello this is Kim Taehyung, ahm, I'm the one who made you spill Spaghetti over yourself yesterday...I'm very sorry again
Dahae: Uh, hello Mr. Kim. No need to apologize again
Mr. Kim: I got lost in work yesterday, and couldn't buy you the coffee I promised, so I'll be over at 2 p.m. as your shift is finished. And you can call me Taehyung
Dahae: That's no problem, you really don't have to do that Mr. Kim. The matter is already forgotten
Mr. Kim: It's Taehyung, and no I'm coming, see you then
Then he cuts the line.
Does this person never wait for replies? I hang up the phone getting into work.
I lecture Duk-mi for giving out such information's to strangers. She argues that he should properly apologize. I let it go, knowing she only meant well.
----------
Punctual at 2 p.m. Mr. Kim awaits me with four steaming cups in his hands. I bow to him, greeting him, as we go outside. He's wearing a black face mask and a cap.
"I didn't know your favorite, so I bought cappuccino, americano, and tea."
He's really attentive...
"I'll take the americano, thank you very much Mr. Kim. You really didn't have to do this..." I grab the Coffee, taking a big sip. I love Coffee.
He looks at me with this cute pout again.
"Why do you keep insisting on calling me Mr. Kim? I'm Taehyung, please."
Because you're not my friend...
"Sure, Taehyung, sorry working habit"
He smiles brightly at me "That's better"
"What's in the fourth cup?", I ask, realizing he only listed three drinks.
"Oh, that's coke, I don't drink Coffee" So why would he invite me to coffee then? What an odd person, but he's kina cute.
I just nod at him, sipping my coffee.
We sit on the bench for some time in silence. Should I say something? Or can I just leave? I promised Woojin to come over after work. No, that would be rude to Mr. Kim. No! Taehyung. Wait? Kim Taehyung. I look at him with furrowed brows, then realization hits me.
"OMG! You're Kim Taehyung from BTS, right?" I stare at him wide eyed.
"Y-yes, didn't you know?" He answers nonchalantly.
'Y-yes?!' That's all he had to say? I stutter some words out, making no sense, still gaping at him.
"You really didn't know? Hahaha, well that's new. I thought that's why you didn't yell at me"
That's when I totally lose it. I start to laugh nonstop, feeling overwhelmed. At first, he looks surprised, but then he joins me, snickering.
"I-I'm s-so sorry. That's all a bit much..." I press out, wiping the tears I cried, from laughing so hard.
"Are you alright? I don't think anyone ever laughed so hard, after identifying me. Thank you!" He seemed genuinely happy about it. I giggle at him.
After that we talked some more about his music and my art. Being interested in photography himself, he told me he wants to see my work someday. I agree, knowing, that this won't happen, but I liked the idea.
He had to leave after a while, promising to meet me again. I wave him off. What a nice person he is, but WTF? I mean... how could I not recognize him? But no one else did, so I guess it's not just me. Afterall he's still a normal person, wanting to eat at a restaurant...
----------
I decided not to tell Woojin who Mr. No-Party-Man was, knowing what kind of drama he would make out of it... Fortunately he was only talking about Joon, and how I could have missed such a chance to get myself 'some more fun', how he called it.
He went down into his studio to finish a painting he was working on, while I looked after his shop.
The door swung open, I'm ready to greet the costumer, but my eyes land on two very familiar dark ones.
J-Joon?
"There you are, I hoped I would find you here" He grinned at me, killing me with his too sexy dimples.
"Ah, ah, h-hello..." I was too shocked to speak. I never really thought I would see him again.
"You don't seem so happy to see me. I had the impression we both liked our last encounter..."
"N-No! it's not like that, I liked it. I just thought... well... we wouldn't see each other again"
His grin deepens, "Not if it's up to me. I wanted to ask for your number that night, but we were too... occupied in something else" he winked. Did he really just say that? "And in the morning, you were gone..."
I blush hard. I stutter an apology, not knowing how to speak.
"I came here to buy the painting we talked about and also in the hope to get your number" His hands rubbed the back of his neck, obviously flustered. I nod my head, getting the papers ready on autopilot.
He wants my number? Oh Gooood...
"Ahm, so... You must sign here. And here. H-how would you like t-to pay?"
He gave me his card, and I swiped it, our eyes never leaving each other's. I swallow hard, in my head flashing memories of our night, as if it happened a few minutes ago.
"Thanks, Dahae. And now your number" I finally come back to earth, as he handed me his phone. I type in my number, averting my gaze.
"I would love it to repeat our little night if you're up for it..."
"Yes!" I nearly yell at him, covering my face bewildered.
"Perfect, I'll call you. Bye darling" With a mischievous smile he walks out, leaving me frozen in place.
Did that just happen? I'm dreaming right? And... Darling? But the message I receive, makes me think otherwise.
Unknown:
Darling text me back, so I know it's you
Dahae:
Joon? Is that you?
Sure it is. Call you tonight!
I stare at my phone, totally stunned.
"Babe did you sell something? The papers aren't filled out correctly. Babe?"
I stare at Woojin who had got next to me, papers in hand.
"Are you allright? You look like you've seen a ghost..." He stands next to me, squeezing my shoulder.
"Maybe I did..."
