Chapter 9.

A few weeks pass by, Caitlin has hardly ate anything because of being stuck in a depression fuelled rut. Shane is losing hope of ever having his lover and best friend back and Mickey is worried he will lose both his best friend/soon to be sister in law and his brother too.

Caitlins POV

I awaken and see the bed empty again, I sigh and rise from my bed. Something I havent done much of the past few weeks, I tidy up my room which had turned into a complete pig sty and goto my bathroom, climbing into the shower and wash the dirt and grime from my body. I lather up my body, wash it off then scrub the dirt and tangles from my hair. Once done I climb out of the shower and brush my teeth before ripping a brush through my wet hair. I look in the mirror at my appearance, I growl in frustration of losing so much weight. My cheekbones were prominent, and I had huge bags under my eyes, my once bright eyes were dark and dull but with a small glimmer starting to return. I get dressed and walk downstairs looking around for Shane.

I go into the kitchen and make some food before sitting down to eat it, Shane walks into the kitchen and looks at me Caitlin? I look up and smile lightly Hi he smiles slightly back at me I missed you Cait I look at my bowl I missed you too, i-im sorry he cuts me off with wrapping his arms around me It doesnt matter, all that matters is youre still here with me darl I smile into his shoulder. He pulls away and pulls out his phone messaging someone, moment later I hear a knock on the door and Shane goes to answer it. Within seconds re-entering the kitchen with Mickey behind him. Mickey smiles over at me CAIT! I smile and wave slightly Hi Mickey I clear my throat I missed you Cait I finish my food and stand up and wash my dishes I Missed you too, smoke? they both look at me smiling.

Shane produces a spliff from behind his ear and lights it, taking a few puffs before handing it over to me, I bring the spliff to my lips and take a drag, feeling the smoke tickling the back of my throat and entering my lungs before I exhale and the smoke is exhaled from my body. After a few puffs I hand it to Mickey and sit down feeling the dizzying affect me practically straight away. I giggle and pull Shane over to me, pressing my lips against him roughly before leaning my head against his shoulder and subdueing to the sound of his heartbeat thumping in his chest. I really missed you Shane I whisper against him with my arms wrapped tightly around his torso. He runs his hand through my hair and leans his chin on the top of my head I really missed you too, I thought I was going to lose you he kisses the top of my head and pulls away. want to go a walk? Sometimes being inside for so long can be really fuckin dementing I look up at him and nod before walking to the front door and sliding my shoes on. Mickey leaves the house and both Shane and I follow after him. Mickey where we going? he turns around To the pink fuckin palace I let out a small giggle and climb into the backseat of the pink limousine, I look out the window and we arrive at the Maguire household. I climb out of the car and follow Shane inside seeing Mimi but no Paddy Shane wheres your dad? he turns to look at me as I whisper to him, He left, Mams kicked him out. He went back to Belfast I nod slightly before sitting at the kitchen table with him. Hi Cait I look up seeing Jamie and Karen descending down the staircase Hi, what are you two doing here? Karen looks over at me Ah The Jockey caught fire last night and Mimi let us stay the night I nod before looking over at Shane. Shane, make dinner for the family tonight, Mickey you help and Caitlin you too if you dont mind I nod and stand up walking into the small kitchen and starting to cook a huge feast up with Shane and Mickey barely helping.

A couple hours later food is completely done and I place it all onto the dining table as everyone comes into the dining room and sits down at the chairs. I sit down at my seat beside Shane and lay my hand on his leg. For what were about to receive, may the lord make us truly thankful. Amen Mimi mutters loudly Amen everyone replies and soon after food stands getting dished up. I half fill my plate with the food and begin digging into it. Soon after everyone is done eating and leaves the table Caitlin that was lovely, we should do this again Karen smiles at her Youre Welcome Karen, im glad you enjoyed it I smile back and clean up the food scraps, plates and begin washing the dishes.

Once done I yawn and make my way into the living room sitting down on the sofa beside Shane. I snuggle my head into the crook of him neck and close my eyes slowly drifting off into a deep sleep. I awaken to Shane standing up and stretching Come on love lets go home I smile tiredly and nod, standing up slowly I make my way to the front door following Shane before we begin our walk back home.

We reach home and I climb the stairs and flop down into bed after getting undressed, Shane climbs in beside me in his boxers and wraps his arms around me, he pulls the blankets up over us before kissing my forehead and we both fall asleep into a deep slumber together.
