- Nate's POV -
"Home Sweet Home at last!" I thought to myself as I walk out of the arrival hall. " Nate! Dude over here! " I turn towards the voice to meet with my best friend and soon-to-be Beta,Chuck. As soon as I was standing in front of Chuck he quickly gave me a bro hug " Nate! How's life bro? Miss me? " he said with a smirk on his face. "Not as much as you" I said while smirking back at him. "Ouch, Im hurt bro I never stop thinking about you" Chuck said with faked hurt while he held onto his heart. I quickly smack the back of his head. ' That really hurts, what was that for?" Chuck said with a frown on his face. I just gave him a small smile and walk away. I may know Chuck since our diaper days but he can be so over dramatic sometimes.
" You brought my car here? Just for me? Dude your the best! " I said as I spotted my red Ferrari. " Thought you would like to drive your car after a long time and I know I am the best"
"Ya, whatever. Thanks anyways you know me so well" I said as I got in to the driver seat. I miss you so much I thought as soon as I got in my car. I started the engine and quickly drove towards the pack house which was about 1 hour from the airport with Chuck sitting at the passenger seat beside me.
"So anything new while I was away?" I said not once taking my eyes from the road.
"Apparently we're sharing our territory with the Woodsen Pack. They just got here a few hours ago. They were attacked by rouges and their Alpha, Alpha Female along with their Beta were all sacrificed. Besides your dad agreed to let them stay."
I kept quiet for what seems like forever so many thoughts running through my mind but thankfully Chuck quickly snap me out of it. "Dude slow down I could hear so many thoughts in your head"
"I'm was just thinking..." I trailed off not bothering to finish my sentence." Why are you smirking? ' I said while turning my head to glance at Chuck." Consider us lucky, Nate! There are quite a few babes in that pack or so I heard. Maybe our mates are in that pack." Chuck said and I stiffened. MATE . It's not that I don't want a mate, i mean who in their right mind wouldn't. Their your mate for a reason, specifically chosen for you by the Moon Goddess herself.
Finally after driving for what felt like eternity because the whole ride after that conversation was silent, so silent that you could probably hear a pin drop. Thankfully Chuck knew not to push it and left it alone but I'm pretty sure it won't last long. We've finally reached the pack house.
As I parked my Ferrari in the front of the porch, I coulnd't help but stare at the pack house. It's exactly the same as I remembered it before I left for boarding school in New York. The pack house was huge sort of like a mansion but bigger. We are a very big pack after all we got our own swimming pool , we've even have our own training ground at the back of the pack house. The pack house was a creamy white in colour, it looks modern due to the fact that my dad did some renovation because the number of our pack was growing.
I walked pass through the door and was greeted by a warm hug from my mom. "Look at my baby boy, all grown up into a fine young man" my mom cooed while hugging me tighter and I could see from the corner of my eyes that Chuck was trying his best not to laugh but failing miserably.
" Audrey, your squeezing the life out of our son." My dad came walking down from the stairs and patting me on the back. "Welcome home, son."
" Thanks dad and I miss you too mom. Its good to be home." I said with a smile on my face. There is no better place than home.
"Welcome home Nate!" Britney squeal just as I walk through my room door and it almost gave me a heart attack. "What are you doing in my room" I said through gritted teeth. " I just wanted to be the first to welcome you home. Aren't you happy, babe?" Britney said with a pout. I hate it when she does that. " No I thought I could enjoy my room all by myself for the time being and don't give me that face" I said ushering her out my door. "Oh come on, I know you miss me" she said while unbuttoning her shirt." Britney not now!" I said anger rising in me, is it so wrong for me to take a nap after a long journey home? " So later?" her eyes filled with hope. I couldn't stand it anymore and just slam the door right in her face. I could tell she was annoyed and slowly her footsteps were getting quiet which was a sign that she has left. Thank goodness I was starting to wonder if she would ever leave us alone my wolf said and I just shrug and walk over to my comfy bed that look so welcoming right now. I lie on my bed and quickly drifted off to sleep.
