it's good to be back

Chapter 2

Hiro Hamada, the tech genius, and leader of San Fransokyo's greatest hero team Big Hero 6 was craving his last bits of homework as his team (Gogo, Wasabi, Honey Lemon, and Fred) were waiting for him as there was a burglary in the San Fransokyo heart center.

He did not know why a thief would steal in a heart facility, but one thing's for sure it was the same person as the burglary at Krei tech for a lost data chip for their new latest medical technology which took years to develop. After finishing his last paper, he rushed towards the garage, suited up along with Baymax, and flew towards the heart center where their team was interviewing the police as he landed. "Sorry I'm late, I was busy doing some stuff," he said with his voice modulator. "No worries Hiro Gogo and Fred are speeding around the city to find him," Honey lemon told him and faced the lieutenant to give him a briefing, "Mr. Hiro according to the witnesses, the thief was a young boy 10 years of age and he stole some medical supplies, some bags of type A blood and oddly weird enough a heart, I don't know why he needed it but what we do know is that we need to stop him before he does anything rash about it."

"Don't worry Mr. Lieutenant, we'll make sure the items are retrieved, Honey Lemon, Wasabi let's go!" The three gripped the red robot as he launched through the air and tracked down Gogo and Fred on top of a rooftop tangled in ropes. "What happened?!" Hiro asked as Wasabi cut the rope around them. "Well we found the kid but when we approached him Fred triggered something and got us tangled while he ran away." "Gogo anybody could have stepped the trigger without their knowing that's a common booby trap 101" not wanting to hear another fight between the two, Honey Lemon got between them and calmed them down while Hiro's anger flared as they did not catch the culprit again.

Meanwhile...

On the city's outskirts, the boy entered the abandoned building and rushed inside to see his patient waiting eagerly for his heart. "Hey, John Doe ready for your operation?" He said as he lifted the ice box containing his new heart which his patient smiled with glee.

Later after prepping for the operation, the kid started to operate on the bionic man as he opened his chest as saw his mechanical heart. The procedure was long, gruesome, and complicated, it took about 5-6 hours to complete almost the whole night and early morning but in the end, the operation was successful, as he closed back his chest and cleaned himself, and sighed for his hard work. As he rested upon his chair he stared at the man before him as much as he knew how to operate, he needed to know if he was in perfect condition, but how? Until he remembered the robot from that one cafe who said that it was a medical robot. So with that decision later tonight, he will be stealing that medical robot for his patient, but first, he needs to take a long nap.

Later that night...

As the moon reached its peak it was silence, long, total silence, as the streets were silent as a tomb, and the once neon lights died down to soft illumination as street lights and 24-hour convenience stores were the only things lighting up the streets.  In a dark alleyway just by the intersection, the kid came to light, and as swift as the wind, avoiding cameras everywhere he made it as quietly climbed into the cafe building to reach the top window where Baymax and Hiro slept and recharged.

Quietly and non-sounding, he opened the window, and with only the moonlight guiding his way, making sure his footsteps were never heard. As he reached toward what looked like Baymax's charging station and strapped it into himself and grabbed his manual which was on a desk before him, and slowly came down the stairs, unnoticed by him mochi their cat was in the middle of the stairs. But before he could even notice the creature he tripped into the cat's body making him fall into the stairs and with a loud thump on the ground. As he got up not wanting to get caught he ran towards the door with the robot at hand and quickly opened the door and unknowingly closed it with a loud bang and ran towards the streets and into the other side of town relieved that he wasn't caught and most importantly safe.

Hiro woke up in a jolt as well as his Aunt as they heard the loud bang of a door. He looked all over the room to see what was missing, and when he did he was horrified "oh no no no no no! Baymax!" He quickly got up and dressed in a flash and ran outside to see where he was around the area but it was all for naught as he was gone like the wind. Baymax was the last thing he had of Tadashi and now he's gone, he wanted to cry, he wanted to scream, but he remembered he has his team, his brother's old friends to help look for him. So with his last thread of hope of finding his brother's robot hanging in the balance, he called the team, which were very displeased at waking them in the middle of the night but quickly turned into overwhelming fear and worry as they heard what happened to Tadashi's robot. The team quickly suited up and rushed to the streets with Fred picking up Hiro before surveying the city.

The team searched and searched from avenue to avenue, and street to street, but came back with nothing. It was almost noon and thankfully it was the weekend when Gogo called him, "Hiro, have you tracked Baymax yet?" "No, apparently he's not in the city, but I'm picking up a signal. It's faint but I think it will do. I'm sending you guys the location, me and Fred and I will head there right now."

Everybody zipped through the streets and through the outskirts of town and arrived a minute before the others and stared at the building before them. "Whoa, it's like straight out of a horror film" Fred commented as he stared at the building in awe.  "Ah no remember last time we looked inside a creepy old building?!" "Sabi c'mon it won't happen like last time, trust me it's an in-and-out situation, we get Baymax and then we leave," Gogo explained coolly with determination, but Wasabi was still on edge. As they walked towards the inside of the building, the door suddenly shut, Wasabi tried to get it to open but was no use as it was closed shut, he began to panic but Gogo slapped him in the face and told him to get a hold of himself; but the conversation was cut short as Hiro shushed them as he heard some foot movements through the top of the building.

As they quietly walked the halls and to the top, they could help but be curious as they slowly looked at some of the rooms, "this looked like some old conservatory" "yea by the looks of it thus was the old san fransokyo hospital building from the 18th century,  my old man told me that this building used to be sick but was shut down due to funding, and financial scandals."

Finally, as they reached the top of the conservatory, they heard voices behind the big door into the main conservatory and listened in. "Hey, Joe I got ya something! It's a medical robot! Now we can assess your conditions quickly, meaning no more tests!" Then they heard some metallic things crashing down to the ground and listened to the tiny footsteps of their young thief going beside them.

Slowly and quietly entered the room with their weapons at the ready in case they were caught and peeked behind some of the crates to see where their robot friend was, but ended up shocked as their eyes went towards the man before them. Hiro was about to break as he couldn't find balance while the others covered their open mouths in shock and their eyes as large as saucers as they couldn't believe who they were seeing. But was confirmed as he heard his voice. "Whoa, what is it exactly?" "Well, it's a medical robot. I got it from someone reliable, believe me, he was even kind enough to give me the robot's manual," the kid said as he brought out his manual and activated it by saying "oww".

After a brief introduction, Baymax scanned the man before him and told them the information they needed to know. "Name: Tadashi Hamada, Age: 22, Status: Healthy, I scanned that you've been operated upon lately so I may suggest bed rest for your full recovery for 2 weeks at most" "wow this bot is the real deal, anyway Baymax we're satisfied with your care and you heard the robot Joe I mean Tadashi you're in bed rest and so am I, I'm gonna hit the hay good night! " The boy screamed in delight and exited the room.

As the doors closed before them, Tadashi simply snickered and rested in his bed. He stared into the night sky amongst the stars above the skylight, and at last with one last glace upon the robot before him, he slept soundly as the wind.
