The Insane one continued to suffocate the Thief while the Duchess edged towards the gun slowly, trying not to catch his attention, but he noticed. He dropped the now unmoving, dead body of the Thief, then turned to the Duchess. She bolted for the gun but the Insane one dove and grabbed her ankle, tripping her. He then jumped up and ran for the gun, tearing it from the dead Doctor's grip. He then aimed the gun at the Duchess and shot.
The bullet sang true and pierced her heart. She dropped down and remained where she was, dead. The Insane one was the last alive, yet aimed the gun again.
He shot.
The Insane one fell to the floor with a bullet hole in his head, his grip letting go of the gun. The house was silent. All were dead.
But wait, one remained? One stood alive and well, a note in hand with a satisfied grin.
