Adrienne stood outside the gates of Alfea, her backpack draping off her shoulder as she scanned through the crowds of new first years and a couple second years like herself that she recognised.

Inhaling a deep breath, she mentally readied herself for the next whole year, especially after finding out who her roommate would be, and after doing so, she was almost tempted to turn the other way and leave.

Before Adrienne could delve more on that thought, a brown-haired boy threw an arm around her neck, pulling her in for a side hug who she immediately recognised from his scent of cigarettes.

"Long time no see, Adrienne!" He greeted.

Adrienne rolled her eyes but a smile graced her lips. "Riven, we literally saw each other yesterday."

"Aw, come on. It was too long without my favourite person," he pouted.

Anyone walking by would have immediately thought or mistaken the two as a couple, but was really not the case. Adrienne and Riven were second cousins, having grown up together since they were young, creating a bond that was closer than siblings.
