Margaret P.O.V
My dorm door slams open and Daniel barges in. "What the hell Danny?" I ask. "That Klaus guy," is all he says. He grabs mom's journals from the foot of my bed and starts flipping through them. What is with people a and her journals today.
"What are you looking for?" I ask even so, he ignores me. Finally finding the page he was looking for, he reads over it. "Oh my god. He was telling the truth," he says in disbelief.
"Daniel, what are you talking about?" I ask worried. "Klaus is our father Maggie. it says it right here," he says, shoving the journal in my face. I read over the page in shock. "No," I mumble. "How is this possible. I've read over these pages hundreds of times and I've never once seen this. This is a trick. It has to be," I say. "Well, it's not and- oh my god, he our father," he says, sitting down on my bed and running his fingers through my hair.
"She told us he was dead," Daniel mumbles. "She told us a lot of things," I counter, wrapping my arms around him. "I need some fresh air," he sighs, walking out.
Klaus P.O.V
It's been an entire day since I've seen the twins. It's now 11 o'clock at night and I'm the only one sitting on the couch in the Salvatore Boarding House resting area. Most of the lights are off except for a few lamps that create a relaxing dimly lit area.
The sound of footsteps cause me to turn my head. All the students should be asleep by now so who is it. Turning my upper body, I see Margaret leaninga against the large doorframe in her pajamas. Her naturally short curled hair is no longer styled but just down.
"So, you're the mystery father," she says. "Seems so," I chuckle softly. I pat the seat beside me softly and she walks over, taking the seat beside me.
The two of us sit here in a awkward silence. "What was she like? Out mom I mean. I'm pretty sure you know what she did by now. My memories of before then are all jumbled up. Daniel remembers but he refused to talk about her," she says.
"She was soft spoken. Protective of those she loves an always had this smile that could light up a room. Nothing like the woman you met," I tell her, sorrowfully. No child should go through what she went through. Let alone by their own parent. I understand that far too well.
"I know it's not your fault but 24 Horus ago you didn't even know Daniel and I exist and it's the same for you. We can't just let you into our lives like nothing's changed. We don't know you and honestly, we don't trust you either," she says softly, looking me in the eye.
"I understand. I was raised by a man who wasn't my birth father. He came to despise me much like your mother. When I finally met my real father's things didn't go so well. Very much like him though, I will fight to win your trust," I tell her in a promising tone. "Good luck," she chuckles, standing back up. She wraps her fuzzy jacket tighter around her body and walks off. " Night Klaus," she says, walking off.
I smile softly to myself. I guess that's a start.
