RETREAT (part 1)

After the fiasco with my boss and the kiss not that I'm thinking about it; Alright i'm thinking about it, can't keep lying to myself. Anyways I've decided to stay away from Mr Gerard and yes we're back to last name basis now. I try to avoid him and not speak to him except anything work related, not that he has noticed because I think he's ignoring and avoiding me too.
I can't help but think maybe I had it all in my head and we didn't have any connection like I thought. Well I'm here to work and that's what I'm going to focus on.

      We have a retreat at Gerard corps every summer and as usual I handle the preparations. Unlike every other year I'm thankful I get to arrange this coupled with how hectic work is, I' m swamped which is what I need right now to get Mr Gerard out of my mind even though I'm still thinking about him right now argh!! I need to get out of this office right now, I need some fresh air.
Taking the elevator going downstairs, I went out to the coffee shop close to the building, I ordered my special then sat close to the glass for sightseeing.

     After the break, I went to the office and immediately the telecom rang, my boss telling me to come to his office
I gave myself the "pep talk" which I've been doing for the past few days anytime he calls me to his office. I reminded myself he's a douchebag and also how he made me walk out of his office in tears after the kiss.

      I knocked on his door and heard a subtle "come in". what graced my eyes was something I couldn't comprehend, take it from me Adrian fucking Gerard is a hot and sexy motherfucker and I couldn't help but stare and check out those fine muscles.
He already ditched the suit jacket and was only in his dress shirt with a few loose buttons showing his defined muscles, the sleeve of the shirt was rolled up and his tattoos peeked out. Oh didn't I mention he has tattoos running from his chest right to his sleeves oops!!

    I heard clearing of throat and I looked up only to see that smug smirk on his face. Well so much for ignoring.
"You called me sir " I said embarrassed
"Yes miss powers, glad you can finally bring your attention to where it's needed" blush rose to my cheeks
"I have some documents to give you for Wyatt corps" he spoke
"Yes sir anything I'm suppose to be concerned about?"
"No miss powers. Also how's the planning of the retreat coming along"

"Actually it's coming together so well, the company bus is ready, and the beach house has been booked. So many recreational activities will be held, I just have to persuade some of our colleagues to willingly carry out some tasks to make it interesting. Also you have to make a speech at the end "
"Wow you did all these yourself? Weldone miss Powers" he said with so much awe
"Thank you so much sir, I'll take my leave now" I stood up leaving
"Actually I was hoping we can go out for lunch, just so we can eat and not for ulterior motives in case you're thinking that. I'm rambling now " he sounded so unsure and not the confident man I knew
"Erm are you sure about that sir, I actually have a lot of work on my desk that I can't ignore" who am I kidding I was just nervous about it all
"Come on Radiance I'm not asking, follow me" We left the office with his hands on my lower back and him opening the elevator and car door for me. Such a gentleman my inner voice said

    We got to a very nice and cool restaurant with good ambiance. I ordered for my meal and he did also. We ate in silence until he spoke up
"Radiance are you by any chance ignoring me?" He stared at me
"With due respect sir" "Adrian, you can call me Adrian" he interrupted
"Okay Adrian, to be honest I've been trying to stay out of your zone, you don't seem too please with me with the way you snapped at me last encounter"
"I'm really sorry about that Radiance, I was in a really shitty mood and took it out on you but please can you stop avoiding me?" He seemed really sincere
"Alright sir I mean Adrian you got it" I chuckled
"You have a beautiful smile"  he said out of the blue and God I knew I was blushing.

   We finished our food and went back to the office, I was done for the day so I left with Val who was waiting for me at the lobby already sharing how our day went.
We got to my apartment, but I couldn't help but notice the black car parked across my home with tinted glasses. I shrugged it off though, still giddy about the conversation I had with Adrian.
I and Val got into a banter about the retreat, the suspicious car successfully forgotten.
