Gasping I shot up, water dripping from my face.
"ERG!" I screeched looking up at the person responsible.
Although no one was there. Looking around confused I noticed all the flowers slowly wilting and dying around me. In their place stood weapons. Turning to the river, the once crystal clear water was turned red. Covering my mouth with my hand my eyes widened tears springing forward. I didn't know what happened to this place, but it was much different than before, its aura of safety having disappeared only to be replaced with terror and pain.
'What happened.' I thought too afraid to speak out loud.
It was as if one word would be my end now. Forcing my body from the ground, an invisible force pushed me towards the arch. I knew there was no point fighting it, not having control over my own limbs. Chest tight as fast breaths left my body, I held back the tears as best as I could swallowing them down. Passing through the arch felt, unearthly. Nothing had changed behind me, but in front the river once again was clear. This time on the other side of the waterfall stood many people. One which I assumed was the king from his crown.
I strained my ears trying to make out what was being said. But with no luck. Only muffled screaming, with a couple of words floating towards my way.
"We WILL win!"
"-Stick together..-"
"Fight..-"
The view began flashing between them and the purple door that led to my world. Over and over again until it was undistinguishable between the two.
My breath hitched in my throat. The few words were enough to fit the pieces together. They were on about a war. With my gasp all conversation came to a standstill, all eyes turning to face me.
'Oh god!' I thought my eyes widening.
My back shot up from the flowers once again, my face wet from cool water dripping down it. My breathing was fast as my heart thrummed against me. Only this time, Drew stood above me, water falling from his outstretched hands. Concern was written all over his face as he studied me.
"What's wrong?" He asked.
"Nothing." I growled out, the calm and safety the place was offering seeping into me slowly.
He held up his hands but didn't stop with his studying my face.
"You kept struggling in your sleep but wouldn't wake up. I know you saw something." Drew held such conviction in his voice, I knew that he wasn't going to let it go. But I didn't want to talk about it right now.
Crossing my arms, I looked down and away from him, sniffling any tears that were left from the dream I had. Ignoring him I tried to go back over what had happened. Not understanding how this place's aura could change so quickly.
"Why aren't you asleep." I accused back when he hadn't moved away a while later.
He was silent for a few more minutes making me look up, he seemed lost in his own thought, before turning to me and smirking.
"Well, I couldn't just leave a beautiful woman in distress." He winked at me.
I laughed rolling my eyes before shaking my head. A tiny smile appearing from the cheesy line. It seemed I was getting used to his flirty ways faster than I had imagined. I still felt like squirming slightly from the attention but decided to stay still not wanting him to notice.
I placed my hands behind my back, leaning on them and looking up waiting for Drew to do the same.
"Does it always have this aura?" I questioned.
