Val laid in bed, thinking of what just happened. Who would've thought that she would ever see him again? She sure didn't.

What just happened? Did i just casually run into Calum Hood, my best friend from forever ago?

Val sat up from her bed and walked over to her bookshelf. She scanned the numerous frame filled pictures of her childhood. Her eyes stopped at a particular picture.

Before she could pick up the photograph to examine, she heard loud footsteps nearing her room.
"Val! Why the fuck haven't you answered my texts?! I've been dying of boredom and you don't come to the rescue. What kind of best friend-"
Val's best friend Luke was cut off by her raised hand.
"You probably weren't even bored, since you find it so amusing constantly texting me pictures of fat cats."

Luke flopped onto Val's bed. "Shut up about the cat pics. No one can find out that Luke Hemmings, the cool football {or soccer if yall want} player sends cat pics to his, might i add lame, best friend for fun."
Val rolled her eyes and sat down to face the blond noodle. {yes i indeed called Luke a noodle fight me}

Luke's blue eyes stared intently into Val's green ones, the pair sitting in a comfortable silence.
Although he was enjoying this peaceful time, he couldn't control himself as he let out a loud burp. Val groaned. "Seriously? Couldn't have waited even ten seconds."
Luke snickered. "Oops."
Val frowned and laid down, staring at her ceiling. She felt her bed shift as Luke's torso laid down next to her's.

"Something bothering you?" Luke turned his body to face Val.
Val mirrored his actions and sighed, right in Luke's face. He sniffed her breath and crinkled his nose.
"Did you get ice cream? Without me?"
Val giggled. "Yep. What're you gonna do about it?"
Luke pouted. "I'm going to add this as another rule in the Vuke best friend handbook."

He slid his phone out of his pocket and opened the note that they started years ago. Val's eyes widened.
"You still have that? Me too! But I haven't updated it in like a year."
Luke scoffed. "How disappointing that you can't even put the effort of updating a special handbook between you and your best friend. What do you have to say for yourself?"
Val laughed. "I say sorry and hugs fix everything." She said jokingly as she leaned into Luke's arms for a hug.

However, she felt Luke's hands slowly trail towards her sides. "Luke, don't even think abo-" Val yelped as the boy jabbed her sides, tickling her. She tried to fight back, but he had her wrists pinned down. Luke hovered over her and started to lean in. Val's eyes widened, unsure of what her best friend was about to do.

Burp. Luke grinned down at an unimpressed Val, and stood up to run away as his best friend scrambled to hunt him down.
