Chapter 39
Lamais's pov
My dress robe glitters like sparks of a fire whenever I move, I stood and hummed the prayer chorus as I waited for the host bishop to finish singing. I stood in the pulpit humming the song along, Othelia and her husband was in the second row from the front right below me on my left and their right. No one can tell we were sisters, I looked different from both of my sisters. I had the brighter tone of my father, while they were all darker like our mother and we all had our own looks.
The song came to an end and I say. "It's mighty nice to be on the Lord's side and it's always a pleasure for me to be in the house of Lord. Ecclesiastes 4 verse 12. Let's read together."
"A person standing alone can be attacked and defeated, but two can stand back- to - back and conquer."
"Thank you. This particular verse seems to be about mostly exactly what it says at face value. My thoughts are about the church, I'll read verse nine which says 'two are better than one, for if either of them falls, one can help the other up'. The thing with Ecclesiastes I could go on and on and never get tired of reading it."
I preached and elaborated on the scripture, the whole church was shouting glory and Hallelujah by the time I close the sermon, people were on their feet worshipping and clapping their hands. I felt renewed in my spirit also, my spirit was refreshed and I felt charged. I ask that those who wish to be saved to come to the alter then I begin to sing.
There's a miracle in this room with my name on it, there's a healing in this room and it's here for me, whoa oo I..
There's a breakthrough in this room it's got name on it...
So I'm gonna put a praise on it!!!
I'm gonna put a praise on it...
Somebody put a praise on it...
There's a miracle in this room with Lamais's name on it,
There's a healing in this room
So I'm gonna put a praise on it....I dance as I sing and the choir was on key and melodious with me, the ministers ministered to those that came up to the alter and I had my choir sang low a prayer chorus I started. Then the host Bishop say a long heartfelt prayer and the service ends, it was great service and I mingled a little afterwards so the others could meet friends.
The next day we went sightseeing and then to the convention meeting, I felt proud when Missionary Kirkland and Shanty answers two questions from the bible correctly and then Minister Smith gives a definition of how he believes a true christian should be. After the meeting we went to a nice fast food restaurant and then back to our hotel.
That evening as we gathered in the hotel's dining all to have dinner, I instructed everyone that Missionary Clover whom they all knew as Shanty would march the choir when they ministered during and after the collecting of the offering. I needed Shanty to do what she can when she could, she was mostly in the background and I'm changing that. She deserves to feel important and not just in assisting, or being a simple usher when the other three ushers always leads the choir in marching.
She and others kept looking at me after I made that declaration, aside from her slight limp there was nothing wrong with her and anyone who had a problem could take it up with me. Marching the choir is not about showing off as I notice some of them do sometimes, it's okay to show up and show out but I despise showing off. With a sigh I got up and went to my room to start getting ready.
Anyone who has never seen Shanty march before will not be forgetting this one, she was happening and I dance singing along throughout the march feeling proud of them all. Kemar was wearing a proud smile and looking at his mother, he seemed to be playing the drums with an extra energy and the whole church kept singing and dancing for a few minutes before the Tishawna who was the lead singer draw it to a close.
