Like A Dream

Last Day

Just like this, I waited for him daily.

So much that I started wishing to see just a glimpse of him as I was getting short on days. My days of going back home were close.

The last day arrived. I went to university to give my valediction to everyone there and came back. This half-day and tomorrow we're going to be the end of my trip to Korea.

I had lost hope of seeing him again and considered my encounters dreams.

I had packed my bags and placed all the gifts I had bought for my family.

Among them, I also bought a tie for him but I guess It'll stay with me.

At night after packing everything I went to sleep. If only I could go to sleep that easily. I kept thinking about him which I know I shouldn't.

*Tink*

I checked my phone to see who is it at this time.

Him.

Eyes shocked I quickly stood on my bed in a disbelieving kind of way.

The text:

Him: "You still here!"

Him: "Can I talk to you?"

Him: "I'm sorry I didn't come."

Him: "Please tell me you're okay."

Me: "Yes."

Me: "I'm okay but you should know I'm leaving tomorrow morning."

Him: "I know and I'm sorry that I won't be there to see you off."

Me: "It's okay."

Me: "I don't mind"

Me: "Bye. And thanks for everything."

I put the phone back down.

Turned around cried a bit which was a bit necessary and slept.

I woke up early and went to the airport early and sat there.

Jimin: "You don't seem happy leaving this place."

Me: "I'm okay really."

I gave a smile to please him after all I don't know when I'm going to meet her too.

"여보세요." (hello)

I looked up And here he was. Right in front of me. Fully covered with clothes.

Jimin: "I remember I forgot something to do. I'll be back."

I know he left to give me some space (with him).

Him: "I'm sorry."

Me: "For what?"

I tried to sound okay but my voice was a bit haggard.

Him: "I'm sorry if I made you wait for me."

Me: "It's okay. Quit with your sorry."

He smiled at this response of mine, whereas I thought of it as harsh.

Me: "Sorry! I didn't mean to sound like that."

Him: "I didn't mind. I don't mind anything you say."

Me: "So what have you been doing?"

Him: "Nothing as such. Just recording songs."

Me: "I'll wait for the album."

Him: "I know you will."

(The flight to the United States will be leaving in five minutes. Passengers are requested to be back at the dock.)

That was my call.

I got up and got the gift out of the bag and handed it to him.

Me: "I bought this for you."

Jimin came back after the announcement.

We hugged each other.

Jimin: "Let me know when you land."

Me: "Sure."

Him: "Can we keep in touch?"

Me: "I never said no to you."

I gave him the gift that I had bought for him. And moved forward making the gesture that I'm about to leave.

Him: "Can you stay in touch?" ( I was a bit confused with him asking the same thing twice, almost)

Me: "I'll think about it."

I winked in Jimin's direction and waved them both goodbyes.

Should I hug him? Can I? Ig no. 

Him: " Can we take a pic? You and me?" 

Cough. He's asking to take a pic with me. This should be the other way around.

I was a bit taken aback And didn't reply so he went on asking me again.

Him: Care for a pic."

Me: "Yeah, sure."

I took my phone out, but he made me put it back inside my pocket.

Him: "I'll take it." 

And I let him;

I fell in love with the pic.

I sat inside the plane and checked my phone.

Only his message seemed visible to me compared to all the chats that contained messages.

Taehyung (heart emoji): "I want you to visit here again! Next time I'll make sure to take you around Korea's best places. You were a good friend and I hope you stayed a bit more so that I could tell you how I want to excel with this small friendship of ours."

I'll keep in touch with you. Don't let me down."

I quickly searched to interpret its meaning.

And I became fond of him even more than before. I had tears in my eyes when I texted back.

Me: "I promise."

I hit sent. Closed my eyes and smiled like an idiot.
