Chapter 9: Forgotten Friend

Okay ...so here are the chapters i wrote when i was in the wilderness. Luckily my mother didn't confiscate our phones. This chapter is dedicated to my loving mother i may not always get along with but whom i owe half of my excistance:) Love you all and happy reading.

"This is the time when your cousin, Fina, accidentally threw a water balloon on you. Look at you Heave...awww you're so cute..." mom says her smile stretching out to her ears. It's a Sunday so mom and i are going through the hundreds of photographs and scrapbooks we made. "Mom...do you miss dad?" i asked to break the silence between us. The picture we behold now is mom and dad's wedding day. They look really happy. Mom is smiling like she's the happiest and luckiest girl in the universe...and dad, he smiles proudly eyes not on the camera but on the lady beside him. He looks like he's got the most beautiful girl in the world married to him. I was happy to see those pictures but there was a hint of sadness in my tone. As i waited for her answer i saw drops of tears falling straight to the photos.

"I never really stopped loving your dad." she said and i hugged her. "I miss him everyday you know...it's just that things will never go your way and your dad and i were no exception."she says...rubbing her face with her shirt. She put up a forced smile and hugged me tighter. "So..why don't you get back together. You know..so we can be a family again"i said sounding more cheerful and full of hope.

"No Heave! We can't" she said panic smoldering her voice. I look at her with questioning eyes. "But why?"
She sighed. I waited for her reply...i was going to protest how they can still fix our family when she said eyes filling up with tears again. "You're dad cheated on me" she said it like it was a secret and i felt hurt in her voice. "Why...how??"i asked desperate to know the answer.

"I saw him with my best friend Carmen."she says "and i figured out they love each other"she added. "I'm sorry mom i di-" "It's alright honey...i'll just go and get some rest" she says standing up and heading to her room.
So i was left alone in the living room. I decided to keep the wedding photos into one of my own photo albums so mom wouldn't have tosee it anymore. I sighed while flipping the pages of my pre-school yearbook. I kept thinking how my family could be fixed...mom still loves dad so i thought can one sided love make our family work?? Well mom would just get hurt if they lived together again..memories of heartache will just go flooding her mind. *scratch* I accidentally tear a part of one of the pages. I stared at the cute little children on the page smiling with spaces between their tooths. Then..i saw a picture sticking out. There's a boy and a girl smiling without their two front teeth. The boy wears big glasses and the girl as well. I flipped the picture. There was something written on it.

Then it hit me. Simon. I looked at the bracelet i wore since i don't know when. Simon...that nerd!!

Soookay??? Hope you still remember Simon. Well i felt i'm such an irresponsible author...i neglected that character for too long. So if you don't remember him...his the guy from the bus with a really nice smile.
