The Great Hall roared to life as everybody sat down to eat. Conversations and talk about this weekend fill the long room. I find myself sitting quietly beside my two friends at the Ravenclaw table. The three of us enjoy each others company so much that we don't even need to speak to have fun. As the evening crept along, more conversations about Hogsmeade arises.
"Let's go tomorrow. We haven't been for a while." Says Luna suddenly.
"Okay."
Both Cho and I say simultaneously, causing the three of us to laugh.
Dinner finally ended, the time being almost nine by the time we left. Most of the time we wait until the hall is almost completely empty so we don't have to shove our way through walls of students. A lot love to clog the corridors for no apparent reason. We turn to head up the stairs to our tower when I happen to see both Professor McGonagall and Professor Snape having what seems to be a private talk. Whenever each of them starts to speak they lean as close as possible to the other and hold up their hand to cover their mouths in case any lip readers happen to pass by. My cheeks burn from the flush when they noticed me staring. Professor McGonagall gave me a small smile and a wave before continuing her conversation.
Later that night, back in my dorm, I change into my pajamas. Comfy sweat pants and a baggy sweater that matches the bottoms. I also took my binder off and placed it away in my drawer to be used again on Monday. I fell asleep quickly, not realizing the extent of my exhaustion until my head hit the pillow.
Last night the three of us decided on heading into the village whenever we wake, even if that means going at noon. Lucky for us, we were all up before ten.
I went with a casual pair of jeans and black sneakers, with another sweater. The puff is just right to hide the fact I'm in a sports bra. On The Weeknd's I allow my body a break from my binder. It's not healthy to wear one 24/7.
The weather outside is cool, but not cold. It's pure fall weather. The leaves on most trees have already changed color, and some have already fallen back to the earth, while the last few green ones hold on tightly to their branch. The walk into the village was almost enchanting. I'll never get tired of the view, the forests, the look of the village itself it something I've dreamed of as a child, never thinking I'd experience it.
Hogsmeade is crawling with people, students running all over the place, disappearing inside different shoppes and restaurants, or simply goofing around outside while still being respectful to others. I see that even some of our Professors are here, enjoying a day off from being a teacher. I watched as Hagrid entered the Three Broomsticks behind Professor McGonagall and what seemed to be Professor Snape...
I've never seen him here..that's new.
My hearts starts racing, knowing that he's so close yet so far at the same time. I try to push down my obvious anxiety and join my friends in the festivities.
We decided on having a late lunch at the Three Broomsticks before heading back to school.
The three of us settle on a cozy booth in the back, sitting beside a back window that looks out towards the mountains. The Professors we saw enter earlier are still here, enjoying themselves at the bar.
Luna, Cho, and myself enjoy our hot meal and butterbeer as we indulge in our own conversations. Mostly discussing school and their crushes. When it's my turn to answer, I lie and say there's no one that interests me in that way.
There's one..but they'd think I've gone insane if I give them his name..
"Hello students." A sweet voice says from in front of us.
The three of us look up to find Professor McGonagall, standing there with a glass of butter beer.
"Hi Professor." We reply in unison.
"Enjoying yourselves, are you?" Asks  McGonagall through a smile.
"Oh yes." Says Cho.
"Very much so." Replies Luna.
"Sure thing." I finally say, returning a sweet natured smile back to the motherly witch.
Out of the corner of my eye, I see Professor Snape curiously watching. Most likely wondering what we're discussing.
"Just wanted to remind you three that the curfew is 6pm. Make sure you're back by then okay?"
Continues Professor McGonagall.
"Of course Professors. We were heading back after we eat."
Answers Luna.
"Thank you dearies. I'll let you be. Enjoy your food!" She chimes in cheerfully before gracefully disappearing back to her stool at the bar. Professor Snape gives one last glance at our table before turning his attention back to Hagrid.
Once the three of us have paid for our food, we stand up and head out. I didn't have to turn to look to know that he's watching.
I wonder what's caused this new interest. He never looked at me this much before, unless I'm now just noticing it.
The entire walk back to Hogwarts, my mind was flooded with thoughts of him. The way he's been watching me, the way he touched my arm and hand yesterday, the way he used my first name instead of my last like most Professors do.
"Are you alright y/n? You've been awfully quiet?" Asks Cho once we're inside the Ravenclaw common room.
"I'm okay. Actually feeling a little worn out." I say.
A large wave of exhaustion came over me out of the blue, making it hard to stay awake.
"Take a nap. We'll come wake you when it's time for dinner."
Luna says, giving me that beautiful reassuring smile that she always gives people.
"I'll see you guys soon then." I answer back, heading in the direction of my room, leaving the two of them near the couches.
I turn the knob on my door and slip inside, trying to close it quietly behind me. I collapse onto my bed, worn out and anxious.
Some of my thoughts lean towards the excitement that Professors Snape might favor me the way I do him. But the other half of me fills with the pure dread that he might know my true feelings and he's finding a way to let me down or worse...reject me harshly. He's known to most by not being the friendliest Professor here.
I hope it's the first thought...
