His mind stopped functioning because of what she said. They're hurting, and yet she said that. Bakit?
Cole smiled but it didn't reach her eyes, "sundin mo sila, Cali. Habang hindi pa naaayos 'yung kasal ninyo, sa akin ka muna. Kapag naayos na ang kasal ninyo, ibibigay kita sa kan'ya, pero hindi ko ipa-promise na hindi kita aagawin sa kan'ya."
It's not a good decision, but she wants him to be okay. Siguro ay matutupad na n'ya ang nasa bucket list n'ya kung hindi pa ayos ang kasal nila, 'di ba?
"Cole, no. I will find a way to fix this, okay? Hindi ako magpapakasal." He replied.
Cole wants his grandparents to be proud of him. And she will do everything for him. Even to let go of him.
Tama naman 'yon, 'di ba? To love is to let go, and to love is to sacrifice. But how can she sacrifice and let go if she wants Cali with her only?
"Ayoko nito, Cali, pero ayaw ko rin na maging masama ka sa pamilya mo." she smiled. "Okay lang ako, Cali. Andito lang ako parati para sa 'yo."
Callum shook his head. "No, babe. Wala akong pakialam kahit itakwil nila ako. Ayokong magpakasal. Ayoko, Cole," he begged.
Kumirot ang puso n'ya dahil sa sinabi n'yang iyon. Ayaw n'ya rin na pakawalan si Cali. Ayaw n'yang ipakasal si Cali sa iba. Gusto n'ya sa kan'ya lang si Cali.
Tumahimik muli ang dalawa. Tumingin si Callum sa mga mata ni Cole. He saw a hint of pain and it hurt him again.
"Thank you for telling me, Cali," she whispered. "At least, now I know why."
"I'll do anything for us, Cole."
He'll do anything for them, kahit na itakwil pa siya ng pamilya n'ya ay wala siyang pakialam. He won't marry someone who isn't Cole.
Kung hindi si Cole ay hindi na lang.
