Taylor Swift was just honored with the Songwriter-Artist of the Decade award at this year's Nashville Songwriter Awards.

The pop singer was in attendance of Tuesday night's ceremony, which was held at Ryman Auditorium.  Swift was named "Songwriter-Artist of the Decade" by the Nashville Songwriters Association International.

She accepted the award alongside country star Ashley Gorley, who was named "Songwriter of the Decade" for his catalog which includes 63 No. 1 hits.

This is not Taylor's first time receiving a prestigious award. She had won NSAI's Songwriter-Artist of the Year seven times between 2007 and 2015, according to the Tennessean.

In her acceptance speech, Taylor talked about the music industry operates on the "new and next" mentality from everything between eras for radio to TikTok success emerging during her career.

"I've learned by being in the entertainment industry for an extended period of time that this business operates with a very new, new, new, next, next, next mentality", Taylor said in her speech.

"For every artist or songwriter, we're all just hoping to have one great year. One great album cycle. One great run at radio. And, these days, one song that goes viral on TikTok.

One glorious moment in the sun. Because on your next project you'll probably have to invent a new thing to be. Think of all new things to say, and fresh ways to say them".

The singer also took the time to thank everyone. "I can't possibly explain how nice [this] feels," she said talking about the award. Swift continued to thank her "friends," "fans," and "harshest detractors."

She had even shared never before notes, which she described as "dorky".

"And I've never talked about this publicly before, because, well, it's dorky", Swift said before continuing. But I also have, in my mind, secretly, established genres categories for lyrics I write. Three of them, to be exact. They are affectionately titled Quill Lyrics, Fountain Pen Lyrics, and Glitter Gel Pen Lyrics".

She explained "I came up with these categories based on what writing tool I imagine having in my hand when I scribbled it down, figuratively".

Taylor then performed an acoustic version of the ten-minute version of "All Too Well" with everyone in the room already standing.

She ended her speech with this statement:

"You have to be grateful for people who want to listen to you."
