we need to talk...

Beth's 15th birthday was last week, she had a small party with some of the med staff, as she didn't have many friends of her own, only one. Beth's girlfriend Emily. No one knew out of school, she was scared to come out, Beth knew not to be embarrassed, but what if they loved her less, what if she shared something so big about herself to not be accepted?

Beth's big plan was to come out at the party and to introduce Emily as more than her best friend, but... of course, something went wrong.

But, today... today was the day. So she hoped nothing would get in the way of their plans

Emily has golden blonde hair and bright blue eyes, she's wearing a T-shirt and sweatpants. Beth's got her father's dark brown hair and her mother's brown eyes. She is wearing pyjama shorts and a hoodie.

Beth and Emily are having a sleepover, they were currently sitting on Beth's bed, laughing and taking photos of each other on their phone. It was 7:50 and both parents were on shift.

"So Ems? You think tonight's the night?" Beth asks, her stomach filling with butterflies. "Are you ready?" Emily replies, tucking a lock of Beth's dark brown hair behind her ear. "Well, I've been ready since the party, I was thinking if you're ready too we could talk to my parents later?"

Emily nods as they continue the convocation, talking about anything that comes to mind.

They're led on Beth's bed together, watching Netflix on a laptop in front of them.
The brunette had her arm around Emily, she kisses her on the head, seeing the blonde asleep peacefully on her side.

Gently Beth closed the laptop and pulled the covers up, and went to sleep too.

Connor and Ava had just got back off of a shift. They bought pizza because they knew Emily was coming for a sleepover, but couldn't hear the teens laughing and giggling like they usually are so they worried.

"Beth we're home!!" Connor called. No reply,  the parents look at each over worry setting in.

"Beth!?" Ava called, walking over to her child's bedroom door. She knocks before opening the door, looking and seeing the two girls curled up together, their hands are locked together they look very calm and comfortable.

"Are they in there?" Connor asks from the hallway. "Yeah," she turns around and smiles calling him over with her hand.
They both stand there contemplating if they should wake them up, Connor goes to get the table set with plates, and Ava slowly walked over to the bed "Honey? Pizzas here" she says, shaking her daughter's shoulder. "Okay, we will be down soon" Beth mumbled, rubbing her eyes with one hand, slowly realising her other hand is interlocked with Emily's.

Beth sits up and tells Emily what's happening, Ava leaves and they slowly get up.

They knew it was soon going to be time to tell them. But not wanting to mess up
"Now or never" Beth chuckles, holding the door open as Emily walks out of it. "Yeah," she said with a smile as they slowly walk downstairs.

"You guys have a fun nap?" Ava asks smiling at them, trying to hide the fact she saw them holding hands and looking like a married couple.
Beth's face goes a shade of red that can only be described as 'Oh fuck'.
"Yeah," Emily looks up at her partner's mother with a smile.

"So... mum.. dad, me and Emily... were dating.. im a lesbian, I've known for a while and wanted to tell you so..." she trails off,
Her head dropped as she picked at her nails. The room filled with silence, thicker than any words, but as the side of her eye caught her parents, she watched them.

Connor and Ava smile at each other,  then look back at them. "We're proud of you honey" Ava replied. Connor adds "Love you kiddo, we're so proud of you"
