Another long day at the bakery. As much as Blueberry loved to bake, the day had seemed to drag on and on, leading him to be very glad when it was time to close up shop and head back home to his partner. He was only hopeful Cheesy would still be awake by the time Blueberry got home, a small pang of sadness pricking at him at the possibility of not being able to talk to him and unwind that night-- but it would be fine. There was always the next morning. Walking along the streets of the city, the only light that led his way on the sidewalk was the full moon above, and the street lamps. It was quiet, save for the whirring of said lights, a few stray crickets, and the occasional car passing by.

Soon enough, Blueberry made it back to the apartment, heading up the stairs-- he never did like taking elevators, not trusting them. Reaching the floor the two stayed at, he let out a hefty, but quiet sigh as he fumbled with his keys, unlocking the door. The apartment itself was nice, the front door opening up to a small, but comfortable living room, that connected to a kitchen, a small dining room table sat by a sliding door that led out to a patio, and then a small hallway leading to a room on one side, and a bathroom on the other. It was nice what running your own bakery, and living with a somewhat successful comedian could afford you when it came to finding a living space. The apartment itself was dim, no lights on inside, other than in the bedroom, the rest of the apartment being illuminated by the moonlight pouring in from the glass patio doors. Blueberry yawned, heading over to the room, setting his keys down on a side table as he passed, ready to flop down in bed and enjoy his boyfriend's company. Walking into the room, a small smile, barely noticeable snuck onto his face just at the sight of Cheesy, who was sitting up in bed, covers over his legs, writing away at a small notepad he held in his hand. Blueberry let out a content sigh as he made his way over to his side of the bed, struggling just a little to get his small body up, but eventually lifting himself up, and flopping over on his back, Cheesy finally looking over with a soft grin.

"Hey! How's my favorite berry?" Cheesy let the joy shine through his tone, very glad to see his boyfriend home.
"Better now," His monotone voice contrasted with Cheesy's, but with how long the two had spent together, Cheesy could hear the small tint of joy in his own voice. Those small details were always what made the evenings so much better, as Cheesy put the notepad and pen down on the nightstand on his side of the bed, focusing his full attention on Blueberry now, who stared up at the ceiling, his expression was calm.
"How was your day, dear?" Cheesy softened his tone, noticing how tired Blueberry seemed. He noticed Blueberry's face grow a brighter shade of blue at him calling him dear.
"Mmh. It dragged on a bit, but otherwise it was nice." Blueberry didn't talk much, especially when tired, but he continued; "I'm just glad it's over, so I can be here with you." now it was Cheesy's turn to get flustered, laying his back down on the bed to stare at the ceiling too.
"How was yours..?"
"Oh well I've mostly been preparing for my comedy show on saturday, I've been working on some new jokes," Cheesy glanced over to his notepad, then to his partner, who shifted to his side to face Cheesy, the small smile still apparent.
"Maybe in the morning you can workshop some on me, I'd love to hear..."
"No chance," Cheesy opened up playfully, before continuing; "you're going to the show this time, I can't just give you all the content beforehand,"
Blueberry let out a small, lighthearted huff, his smile growing a bit before continuing;
"Darn, maybe next time then,"

The two of them sat in silence for a few moments, just staring at each other, before Blueberry let out a yawn.
"Guess that's the queue to shut down for the night, huh?" Cheesy smirked, as Blueberry rolled his eyes. Cheesy sat up, only for a moment, just to click off the lamp on the nightstand, before snuggling back into the covers with his boyfriend, moving to his side so he could move his hands around Blueberry's waist, pulling him in close, as Blueberry returned the hold.
More silence, before Blueberry's quiet, tired tone spoke out;
"Love you..." He mumbled, nuzzling into Cheesy a bit more, very close to dozing off. Though the day had been long, Blueberry felt so lucky to be falling asleep in his loving boyfriend's arms.
"I love you too," Cheesy let his eyes close finally, eventually falling asleep with a smile on his face.
