ศรีเป็นที่อาศัยแห่งโภคทรัพย์  Honour is the source of wealth

Kings from across the kingdom had graced Ayutthaya with their presence in time for the coronation ceremony. Brahmin pandits had been in attendance along with the Buddhist monks since the announcement of the ceremony, occupied in preparations. The preliminary rites had been carried out alongside handing over of the royal seal. Drums, gongs and trumpets resounded throughout the palace. Masses from faraway had crowded outside the royal palace to get a glimpse of their king.

As the Crown of Victory was handed over to him, as the weight of the gold rested in his hand, he  sighed in relief. He raised it, placing it upon his head and stood up, looking ahead at the Kings and subjects, realizing the power he now held in his hands.

The King spoke his first command, "I extend my royal authority over you and your goods and your chattels, and as your sovereign do hereby provide for your righteous protection, defence and keeping. Trust me and live at ease".

The royal troupe stood in preparation in a separate section of the palace ready for the main ceremonial rites. After the King's coronation, a grand theatrical performance alongside a feast had been prepared for the guests.

Nara stood atop the mountain, the port in front of him and the scintillating view of the palace behind him. This could be my only chance. He proceeded downward the hill hurriedly bumping into a woman along the way. She cursed as he kept going, leaving her to pick up the fallen basket of fruits. She looked at him as he scurried away, not even looking back to help.

...

"Yes Master. Everyone is ready", Rathsam spoke as others bolted and paced across the room getting their accessories and makeup ready. Dainath looked around the room and sighed.

"Good. Tonight is one of the most important performances you have ever done!"

"We will not disappoint you Master", Rathsam ran his hands along the ornamental crown resting on his head.

"Moreover, since it is a royal event, a mere commoner won't contaminate the sacred grounds", Rathsam spoke smirking and walked away as his father entered the room.

"Narathip. Step out!" A guard announced as he stood outside the room. Everyone looked at each other in confusion.

"What!" Rathsam exclaimed to what his father whispered to him. He looked at the guard who had entered. Master Dainath informed him of Nara's absence following which the guard walked out.

...

"What do you mean Naga? He isn't in the quarters? His performance..", Thasit frowned as he spoke.

"You are forgetting that his status doesn't allow him to be a part of the troupe anymore", Nakayama reminded him.

"I granted him permission to perform irrespective of his status, didn't I?" Thasit asked. He turned around and walked closer to Nakayama.

"Find him. He will be opening the ceremony"

"But a commoner performing in the royal coronation-"

"Do you need to be reminded who the King is?"

"No, your majesty", he bowed and walked out. Minister Subana joined him outside.

"I have put together a team of my best men. Lead them and find him before others get to know of his disappearance", Subana spoke.

"I only take orders from the King. I'll lead the men and find him nonetheless", Nakayama said before turning to walk off.

"Your highness. I have seen him", the lady servant in the kitchen announced as she stopped a few feet away from the two men. Thasit joined them outside the room, sending the woman looking at the ground as she spoke.
