BeepThe sound of the alarm going off isn't very pleasant to wake up to first thing in the morning. Slowly but surely I decide that it's time to wake up and not click snooze again.
I share a dorm room with one of my best friends, his name is Nelson. My school is unique, one of a kind. The dorm rooms can be shared with by whosoever you want. The school is popular for producing the highest grade students. It's probably because the teachers build personal relationships with each student making it easier for everyone to learn. This school gives us students lots of freedom.
Our dorms consist of 2 people each. The rooms are pretty small overall. So they let each other choose their own roomate so it's someone they get along with since the rooms are very cramped. There is one bunk bed with 2 desks on each side of the wall and dressers on the other. The bathroom we have in our rooms only have a toilet and sink so we have to visit a bath house every couple days.
My friend Nelson is super up going and understanding. He's always awake 2 hours before my alarms go off for school. Nelson always wakes up on his own being kind enough not to set any alarms for me to wake up earlier than what I usually do. Nelson always greets me in the morning with a fresh cup of coffee and toast. Nelson knows I can't cook so he does the majority of it. Nelson is a master piece with some of the top grades. He has long red hair that goes down past his waist a little. He has pretty red eyes that remind me of rubies.
This morning was odd, when I woke this morning I wasn't greeted with the fresh coffee and morning toast that I usually get. Instead I hear the sink in the bathroom on but no sound of it actually being used. I get of out of bed and walk to the bathroom door. I try and open it but it's seems to be locked.
I try and knock on the door but I get no reply. "Nelson, you in there?" Nothing, he isn't replying. "Nelson, you alright in there?" I ask again and still nothing.
I sigh extremely confused on what's happening here and walk to my desk drawer. After scrambling through it for some time I finally find the bathroom key. I walk back to the bathroom door and knock one last time. "Hey if you don't answer me I'm coming in even if you are naked!" He still doesn't reply.
That does it, I unlock the door and open it slowly then finally walking in. I look at Nelson who is just staring at the running water while his hands rest in the bottom of the sink. He looks spaced out. Very spaced out, more than he usually is. He never spaces out this much or barely at all. He's so responsible and upright for him to not hear me shouting at him something must really be wrong. "Nelson..are you high?" I question walking closer to him and wave my hand in front of him. Nothing. I turn the sink off and yank his hair. "Ahh what the heck.." he finally says at once.
"What's wrong? I have been calling on you for 15 minutes now and I even waved my hand in front of your face, you are just zoned out. Did you do drugs?! If you did I'm going to knock you're teeth out! How dare you even think of doing something so stupid!" He looks at me and smiles. He pats my head in a calming way. "You are over reacting, I didn't take drugs and nothing is wrong. I'm just a little tired...didn't sleep at all last night." He sighs and walks out of the bathroom to go sit on his bed.
I follow close after him sitting down next to him. "Why didn't you sleep, what is wrong?"
"I'm just really anxious for these finals that's all! Maybe if you slept in the same bed as me last night I would have gotten more sleep." Nelson says jokingly and winks at me. I laugh at him and give him a head pat before getting up and getting ready. I grab my clothes and head to the bathroom. I brush my teeth do my hair and then change into my clothes for the day. When I walk back into the main room I'm greeted with toast and fresh coffee, as well a warm smile from Nelson.
