✩Wake up.
Kwan groaned, trying to fall back asleep. He shifted in his hospital bed, feeling trapped in the small space.
The hoodie and sweatpants he had changed into was causing him to overheat, and he kicked the covers off of him.
Wake up!
He pulled the pillow over his head, covering his ears with it.
You aren't safe!
Finally, he opened his eyes. Sitting up in bed as he attempted to look around. The lights were off, and the only noise that could be heard was the beeping of Valentina's heart monitor.
His eyes widened when he realized it was flatlining. Kwan reached over to the small lamp on his nightstand, switching it on.
Quickly looking over at her bed, he sighed in relief when he saw it was empty, and that the monitor just wasn't working. Then, he froze, realizing it was fucking empty.
"Valentina?" He called, wanting to smack himself. There was no where she could hide in such a small hospital room.
The needles that had been sticking out of her arms earlier that day were now laying all over the bed. So either she took them out, or someone took them out for her.
Get out of the room.
Kwan eyes widened, realizing the voice from before was back; and he hadn't imagined it.
"Lucia?" Kwan whispered, sitting up all the way, "Lucia how are you talking to me?"
His mind went quiet, and he shivered as he felt something pulling him towards the hallway.
Deciding it was probably a good idea to listen to his possible conscious, he got out of bed, grabbed his phone, and crept into the hall.
It was dark, and Kwan turned the flashlight on his phone on. His gut was telling him to go down the hall, but he couldn't help the dread that washed over him when he heard unrecognizable whispering down the hall.
He turned the corner, shining his flashlight onto the walls and floor, desperate to find whatever was making the noise.
The light landed on a girl backing down the hallway, she was bent over, holding her stomach in pain.
Then, another figure stepped into the light. Their face was covered by a red hood, and they were moving towards the girl.
"Valentina?" Kwan called, moving closer to the pair despite everything in him screaming at him to run away.
The girl turned around, and Kwan gasped. Val had the side of her face slashed, and Kwan could see the blood pouring out of the stomach wound she was desperately trying to cover.
Kwan screamed as the other figure lunged towards her, stabbing her in the chest. They pulled out the knife, running in the opposite direction as Val fell to the floor.
Kwan sobbed, running over to Val and falling down to his knees next to her. He put his hands over the stab wound, getting his hands covered in her blood.
"Kwan?" Val asked, looking up at him with hooded eyes. She looked distant, like she wasn't totally conscious.
"Yeah?" Kwan whispered, grabbing her hand and holding it, "I'm right here."
She closed her eyes, allowing tears to run down her bloodied face, "Lucia says it's time for me to go."
Kwan shook his head, "Lucia?" Tears ran down his face now, despite his desperate effort to stop them, "Lucia's dead, Val."
