I am here sitting at a familiar coffee shop located at the top section of the building beside my Senior High school alma mater. The perfect view of the mountain ranges, the lights emitted from the skyscrapers from afar, and the beautiful night sky, I mean how can I forget this? How can I forget a place that holds every memory that I treasured the most, and even the memory that I wanted gone so bad.
"Miss, can I get your order?" sambit ng barista na hindi ko namalayang nasa harapan ko na pala.
"Oh sure sorry, Can I have Iced–" Hindi ko pa naman natatapos ang sasabihin ko, pinutol ako ng isang pamilyar na boses.
"She'll have Iced caramel macchiato and a slice of banana cake, I'll have the same too, thanks!" Saad ni Violet
" Alright madam, I'll prepare your order" sabi ng barista at agad na din umalis.
"OH MY GOD! Violet I miss you so much" I said and wrapped my hands around her
"I miss you too Charlotte, pero sis hindi ako makahinga, masyado mo naman yata ako namiss sa yakap mo, bruhang to!" sabay irap niya and we exchanged laughters.
Violet has been my Best friend since high school and I've never seen her for a year when she went abroad to expand her clothing business. .
"So ano na nga balita sa buhay mo?" she asked and sat on the empty chair in front of me. She removed her balenciaga denim jacket that revealed a dress underneath that she designed herself. Even if she was gone for 30 years I wouldn't even doubt a single second if this girl in front of me is Violet, this girl right here screams fashion.
"The usual? Trabaho - tulog- kain and the whole process will repeat, wala na yatang exciting part ang life ko ngayon" sagot ko at nag kibit balikat nalang.
"How about updates on your love life? Baka naman malaman ko na lang ikakasal ka na ha, I should be the one to design your wedding dress ha!" I looked at Violet with a questioning eye while she gave me a teasing one.
" Vi, seriously? Pa'no ko pa maisisisngit ngayon ang love life? Sa hospital duties ko palang ubos na oras ko, makipag date pa kaya?"
"What about Nathan?" she moved her face closer to mine, kind of whispering Nathan's name
"I am over him Vi, I'm SO over him" Binuksan ko nalang ang dala kong ipad upang mag review sana hoping na makaiwas na sa topic na ito.
"Parang dati lang you almost end our friendship for that man ha" She replied and turned off my ipad, Kinuha niya ito sa kamay ko at tinago sa bag na dala niya,
" I have to study for NCLEX Vi give it to me please" I said nonchalantly at akmang kinuha sa kanya ang ipad ko
"Answer me first, wala na talaga? Sure ka?" Violet looked at me straight in the eye, I know for sure that she's serious about this.
"Wala na talaga promise" I swore and even raised my right hand.
"Even if you see him again?" Another familiar voice spoke behind me
"Stella? OMG Ella I miss you!" I threw myself at her and hugged her tight. Stella is also my best friend alongside Violet. The three of us were inseparable back in high school, we knew each other's deepest secrets, but our friendship almost ended because of a guy whom I rather choose not to be named.
Stella sat beside Violet and in an instance, two questioning eyes are now staring straight at me. If there's one thing that I really love about my friends, it would probably be the way they cared for me. They will support me anytime as long as I am happy with it and I am not hurting anyone. They even swore to join me to rob a bank only if it's a legal thing, a weird promise but I love them. I turned to my side and inhaled a huge amount of air before speaking up.
