EZGI POV

My mother's words are still ringing in my ears.
"Call us. Anytime. Day or night. If you need anything. Anything at all."
She took one last look at the red dress hanging in its dry cleaning wrapper on the door.
"It's a beautiful dress. Special. And Ozgur bought it for you?"
I saw the look in her eyes and her mind connecting the dots, getting her hopes up.
"He probably put it on the business expense account. I was representing La Gabbia on Latin night and he was paying me to be the hostess."
"Of course, dear."
She patted my cheeks and kissed my head.
"Don't get up. We'll see ourselves out and I will be phoning Cansu later to check in on you."
"Okay. That's fine."

They finally left and I phoned Cansu myself, begging her to agree to whatever my mother demanded of her on the phone, but NOT to visit me tonight.
After some questioning, she agreed and then I hobbled to my bed, and drifted off for an nap. Which actually turned into a wonderfully cleansing sleep. Waking up, I was happy to have whiled away some afternoon hours.

Now, slipping my arms inside the tight fitting sleeves of the dress, I'm getting a second chance at Latin night.
I shift and shimmy myself, testing my ankle on the floor.
No dancing for a while, but the bruising is less painful when I move.
The material clings to my hips but falls off my shoulders and drapes down low, folding around the curve of my lower back.
I'm not wearing underwear and goosebumps appear on my skin, making me shiver momentarily when I think of Ozgur finding out.
Maybe a drink would help, but I can't risk having too much alcohol while I'm still on painkillers.
I took down my mothers school girl hair and blow dried it out onto a more sophisticated, glamorous style.
High heels are not an option, so I moisturise my legs and feet and protect them with a pair of fluffy red socks. I can take them off later.
A glass of ice water will have to calm my bubbles of excitement for now and then I gingerly wander out to the terrace and lean on the glass, ready to watch the sunset and feeling grateful for the simple pleasure of being here to see another day come to a close.

In a hospital bed, surrounded by beeping machines that breathe mechanically for him, Soner may never get that chance again.

Everything is quiet next door.
I heard Sevim with Tesla and then they all left with Ozgur.
I'm sad that I never got to speak to Ebru. The events of Latin night ruined a proper girly catch up. Plus, I fall a little bit more in love with Ozgur when I see how he acts around her. She calls him her annoying older brother while I just think he's adorable around his family, making sure his women are okay.
I don't feel confident enough to put myself in that category...yet! Although I know that he cares about me...
Loves me.

She's so lucky

She's so lucky. How wonderful it must feel to be married and having a baby with a devoted husband by your side. Then I'm back to Soner and his creepy proposal that literally made my skin crawl...
My shoulders physically shudder his image away...
Once, it was all I wanted...and now?

My thoughts have spirited me back to a place that I've dreamt about before... A beautiful sunny day in a meadow where I'm surrounded by sweet, ivory, cream and pink scented flowers, marrying a handsome groom, who's waiting for me, under a ribboned arbor...and even though I only see the back of his head at first, when he confidently spins around, there's only one man it could be...
Ozgur Atasoy.
"Hmmm...how perfect."
