The Alleyway

I had just finished my shift at a candy shop that was close by my house. I am currently walking back to my house. It was night out by now. I zoned out for a second. "Today was stressful, to say the least. We had more customers than ever before. I'm so tired, the moment I set into the house I'mma go to sleep right away-"

"AHHHHHH-"
"AHAHAHHAAA!!!"

A loud scream, followed by laughter, tore me out of my trance. I stood there for a second, before running towards the sound. I stopped in front of an alleyway, where the scream came from. I looked into the dark place before taking a step forward, hearing nothing so far. I wanted to turn back so badly, but for some reason I just couldn't.

I took another step forward. Then another. Soon enough I was walking through the alleyway. I heard the faint noises of something falling and hitting the ground, like water dripping from a ceiling. I slowed my pace and silenced my footsteps as I carefully got closer to the noise. I heard laughter again, but it was much closer this time. I hid behind something.

I peaked my head around the wall to see a horrific sight. Blood dripping down the walls and onto the floor, a metallic smell, organs shaped like balloon animals were all over the floor, as well as a few dead bodies. I almost fainted at the sight, but I kept my composure as I then saw one specific thing. A little boy, close to the wall, not able to escape or think straight.

He had tears streaming down his face. In front of him was... "What... What is that- THING?" It was about 7 or 8 feet tall, raven black hair that went to its shoulders. Judging by its build, it looks like a male. He wore all black and white, I couldn't see much as he was faced away from me. I looked from him and back to the kid, I then heard him speak.

"Poor ol' Gavin... It was fun to play, but I've grown bored. Therefore, the fun has to come to and end. I hope you can forgive me, AHAHAHA!"

I heard the man speak as he erupted with laughter. His voice.. it was so- deep, raspy even, yet high pitched? Like Pennywise from IT, but a little deeper. This thing, whatever he was, he was not human. He couldn't be. He had claws. How would a HUMAN have CLAWS? I just stared at the sight as he started to lift up his long arm towards the boy. I suddenly felt adrenaline kick in and I couldn't think straight.

Next thing I knew, I was running towards this guy at full speed. I tackled him down and held him there for a second. The boy looked in shock as I yelled for him to run. He nodded and started running. I looked back to the thing, finally getting a good look at him. He had white eyes, a cone nose that was black and white striped, triangles above and under both of his eyes, and a huge smile. This thing was a... Clown?

His appearance threw me off guard, giving him the chance to throw me off of him. I quickly ran off, running into the boy who I had saved. He was hiding behind the wall. I picked him up and stared running towards the exit of the alleyway. I heard the manic laughter of the clown behind me, so I started to run faster towards the exit. He tackled me to the ground and held me by my throat.

The kid was somehow able to escape the alleyway, but he waited at the exit. The clown lifted me up in the air and his grip around my throat got tighter by the second. I used some of my strength to kick him, making him drop me and I took the chance to run. The clown barely grabbed my shirt, but he wasn't able to. Then, he just stopped.

He stopped chasing us and just looked at us with a manic smile. The kid and I had soon reached the exit. "Okay kid, what's you're name?" I said between pants. "I- my name is G-Gavin.." The kid looked around. "Gavin, where are your parents? Do you remember their address or number?" I took out my phone. "N-no ma'am." I sighed and just dialed the police instead.

"911, what's you're emergency?"

"Uhm, I just outran a murderer and I have a kid with me and that kid doesn't know where his parents are or their address or number... Can you please send help? I don't know what to do! We're both injured, just please send someone!"

"Okay ma'am, I need you to remain calm and tell me where you are."

"I'm by an alleyway on ___ street."

"Alright I'm sending police your way, I need you to stay on the line with me until they arrive, can you do that?"

"Yeah, I can do that."

"Good. Is the other person still there? The one you outran?"

"He chased me and just stopped and smiled.. I don't know if he is still there or not."

"Just remain calm for the time being, take deep breaths if needed. I also need to talk to the kid."

I took deep breaths before looked over to Gavin, who's beside me. "That's fine." I handed the phone over to Gavin who started talking to the lady on the phone. I waited impatiently for the police to arrive. I soon heard the sound of sirens in the distance. I let out a breath of relief. Gavin soon handed me back my phone.

"Okay miss, I heard sirens in the distance. You should be able to hang up now." I hung up without another word and sat on the ground as I waited for the cops. Soon enough, cop cars were parking beside us. They immediately ran out of their cars and took the kid while two others helped me up. There was also an ambulance. They led me and the kid to separate ambulances and set us in them. The moment I sat down, I passed out.
