"I'll be back... Soon~..."

(Y/N) sat up and rubbed their tired eyes before feeling a terrible headache, making them fall back into the sofa where they laid. It was like a thousand tiny needles poking at their brain. They took slow, steady breaths as they waited for the pain to subside at least a little bit. 1 second turned into a minute, a minute into 5, 5 into 15. The pain just didn't seem to leave. But why? What could have caused it? They didn't know.

(Y/N) inwardly groaned and stood up from their spot on the couch, holding their head. They walked over into the kitchen and looked into their medicine cabinet, pulling out some medicine to help the pain go away. They took the medicine and went back to the living room to let it kick in. It seemed to take forever. It still hadn't gone away.

"Why couldn't the pain go away?" (Y/N) thought. It seemed to have subsided, but not fully. (Y/N) doesn't understand. They had been sick many, many times. Are they even sick? Maybe they should go to the doctor. But they're only having a headache, that's nothing to go to the doctor for unless you have some other symptoms. But (Y/N) couldn't just keep complaining about it. Complaining never helped with anything most of the time anyway.

(Y/N) shrugged and tried to forget about the headache. It was probably nothing to be worried about. And with that, they really didn't have much to do. They couldn't go back to work just yet. Though they were pretty sure they return to work tomorrow, or are at least supposed to. It all depends on how they are feeling tomorrow, from what the boss said.

(Y/N)'s boss was always nice, he pretty much understood anything and everything. Ended up witnessing a murder and then getting attacked on the same day, at the same time? He understood and would let you off for however long you needed. Easy as that. (Y/N) stood up from their spot on the couch and, having not ate yet, they fixed their self a nice bowl of cereal, like usual. Always too lazy to make an actual breakfast meal.

Or was it lunch time? (Y/N) hadn't even thought to check the time when the got up this morning. Perhaps it was due to the headache. (Y/N) decided they would check the time now before it's too late. "9:53am" is what the clock that hung on the wall just above the door showed. Honestly, they expected it to be a lot later than that.

Once they were finished with their food, they placed the bowl into the sink. The bowl hit the bottom of the sink with an ever-so-slightly loud clang as (Y/N) then leaned on the counter to find something to do. They could do something like going to the local park. They do live in a small town, not so much a huge city, so there wouldn't be many people at the park anyway. But what would they do there? Just walk around?

Seems like the best option. Better than staying cooped up in the house all day. With that, (Y/N) grabbed their purse and headed out the door, locking it behind them before getting into their car. Once inside, they started up the car and drove off to the park. The drive was about 15 minutes long, more or less, (Y/N) wasn't really keeping track of it.

(Y/N) pulled into a small parking spot before turning off their car and getting out. They locked their car and walked to the entrance of the small park. The park had many paths through the forest that wraps around the town. Some long, some short. You could even make your own path if you wanted, but you'd probably get lost in the process.

(Y/N) walked through the entrance and, after a little walk, saw a small set of swings, slides, and other things of entertainment that you'd see at any regular park. With a small sigh, (Y/N) went and sat on the swings. The swings faced away from the forest. (Y/N) swung on them slightly, not going too high nor too low, and just a small pace.

They kept swinging and swinging, not really finding anything interesting. That was until they heard a noise. A rustle in the bushes.
(Y/N) tried to pretend like they didn't hear anything, guessing it was just from the wind, not anything else. They kept swinging... Until they heard it again. Yet another sound came from the bushes.

(Y/N) slowly walked over to the bush, kneeling before it. They reached their hand out towards the bush. Just as they were about to touch it, a cat popped out. The cat had beautiful black and white fur and piercing white eyes that seemed to be unnatural. (Y/N) didn't mind though, they were just eyes anyway. Besides, it could have been some kind of condition or something.

"Hey, little buddy.. What are you doing here?" (Y/N) noticed the cat didn't have a collar, so probably a stray. They picked it up and pet it slightly. "You're so beautiful. Would you mind if I take you in? I mean, I take great care of animals. I've had many pets in my lifetime!" The cat didn't respond, obviously. But it seemed to nod as a sort of response.

(Y/N) nodded and left the park, back to their car. Once there, they unlocked the doors and climbed inside. Putting the cat in their lap, they shut the door and started the car up. (Y/N) pet the cat and pulled out the parking spot, driving back to the house. Once arrived, they picked up the cat and got out the car. "Welcome to your new home, I wonder what to call you. We'll figure that out later!"

(Y/N) locked the car doors and went inside the house. They set the cat down and the cat walked off, probably curious and wanting to wonder around the place. (Y/N) went to the living room and walked towards the music box. Remembering what happened, they inspected it. Yeah, it was rusted and broken, but how could it have played by itself? (Y/N) just shrugged it off.

Noticing it was getting dark, they headed off to their room. Opening the door before shutting it behind them. Climbing into their bed, they closed their eye. Yet they couldn't sleep. (Y/N)'s mind was wide awake, thinking about mostly random things. They just couldn't fall asleep. They sighed and sat up. They looked around their room, noticing something different. A dark figure in the corner of their room.

(Y/N) tried to shrug it off as being a pile of clothes or something and started to actually fall asleep once they laid back down. They felt something. Something cold, sharp running up their. They gasped and quickly shot up. Only to be met with a pair of piercing grey, almost white, eyes. (Y/N) yelled at the top of their lungs and flicked on the light as fast as they could.

There was nothing. Absolutely nothing. No figure. No feeling of a sharp pointy thing on their leg. No eyes. Just their room. They took deep breaths and tried to calm themself down when they heard a meow. They looked around and saw the cat at the side of their bed. "How'd you get in here? I could have swore I closed the door.. Maybe I didn't close it enough." They laid back down as the cat jumped onto the bed. They both got into a comfortable position and slowly fell asleep.
