Chapter 10 - a date

ou woke up cuddling what you believed was a stuffed animal much to your surprise the animal moved causing you to open your eyes and see you were inches away from Tom riddle, startling you so much you fell out of bed, waking said boy from his slumber “good morning to you to l/n" tom said not even bothering to open his eyes, you were both still dressed in the outfits from last night making you calm down a little bit “yeah, thanks... um why am I here?” you say while looking around his room “you share a room, I didn’t want anyone getting the wrong ideas" you raise an eye brow at him “and me coming out of your room wouldn’t?” this caused tom to finally open his eyes “not if you use the invisibility charm” “thanks again riddle we should do this again some time, you are really cuddly after all" you say while walking out of the door, if only you had looked back you would have noticed that Tom had become extremely pink and eager to vanish at that moment “I am sure she says these things to annoy me” Tom says while trying to compose himself he wouldn’t dare go out side looking like a tomato.
“lord why have the attacks stopped?” malfoy said while tom was sat in the library studying “I have pressing matters to attend to and the killing of students interferes with it” Tom says while not looking at malfoy “don’t tell me its that girl" malfoy spat out making tom finally look at him “it is not, not that its your concern, Dumbledore is keeping a close watch on me, “I heard that they wanted to close the school” tom nodded at malfoy “as much as killing mudblood excites me, I can not risk Dumbledore finding out and ruining my plans for the future, so I’ve decided to befriend a giant boy, I gave him a Acromantula” malfoy raised his eyebrows at Tom looking puzzled “must I spell everything out for you, I spoke to head master dippet today about the spider I found in his possession” malfoy looked at Tom with his mouth a gape “so you framed him?” Tom laughed at Malfoys surprise “of cause I did, there even giving me an award for saving the school, can you imagine” Tom said with his signature smile, malfoy smiled back and walked out of the library to leave tom to study.
A week had passed and you had still not seen Tom, he had managed to avoid you ever since the night of the party, something made you think he was hiding because he couldn’t handle the fact he may have feelings for you, but you decided you were done trying to be with him just because a scent told you to.
“hey serious are you free today “ you say to a tall boy with shaggy black hair and a soft smile “anything for you y/n, your a goddess in my eyes" you laugh at his remake “Well three broomsticks at five then?” you giggle as the boy slowly nodded his head, you wave lily good bye as you walk back to the Slytherin table to see pansy was staring at you “what?” pansy just looks at you while you sit next to her “I thought you and riddle had like a weird thing?” pansy said clearly annoyed at your lack of willpower to go after tom “Well he’s made it clear he doesn’t like me no matter what the scent said, I have not even seen him in a week and that includes classes, like who manages to miss a week of classes and no one bats an eye riddle that’s who he’s always getting special treatment” pansy rolls her eyes and continues to eat her porridge “Well if your taking a fourth year I’d suggest don’t get to drunk after all he’s not legal yet” pansy winked and you groaned at her “I don’t think so” .
Tom had been in the library all week researching the deathly hallows and anything close to them , he had managed to figure out the ring he possessed had the resurrection stone after close examination but he was unsure of how it worked, he had tried countless times to get the stone to show him something but realised no one loved him so no one would come to the stone, he had thrown the ring in frustration upon finding that bit out, he had always known that no one loved him but having proof of it just made it worse for him. He was still no where close to figuring out who had the other two items. Shutting the book to try and get some piece and quiet from all the constant studying he decided if anyone knew where the hallows where it would be the bar tender at the three broomsticks, he was Dumbledore’s brother after all and he knew most things others did not.
Tom had been staring at his drink for half an hour when he heard a familiar voice, he sighed and continued his conversation with Aberforth trying to make him self as invisible as possible not wanting anyone from Hogwarts to find him talking to Aberforth.
“so I hear you want to know about the deathly hallows" Tom nodded at him clearly annoyed at the fact he didn’t just get straight to the point “it is said that once you have all free you have mastered death,” Aberforth laughed upon seeing toms face light up “but its just a legend my boy, if it was real don’t you think everyone would be looking for them" Aberforth said looking at Tom as if he couldn’t be trusted with the information he knew “well I am sure, you are well aware that I have the resurrection stone” Tom said holding the stone in his hand causing Aberforth to take a step back “Well I guess I can’t convince you they don’t exist then?” Aberforth sighed “Grindelwald has the wand and I believe the potters had the cloak but that’s as much information I have on the two" Aberforth said clearly unhappy of the information he just gave him, “now you give me what I want” Tom sighed and placed a potion of liquid luck on the desk making Aberforth smile “pleasure doing business with you" with that Tom made his way to the door but not without spotting you smiling and giggling to serious, his grip became tight around the door handle almost as if he was about to break it but composed and sent a hex towards serious as he left smirking to him self.
You had arrived at the three broomsticks just in time to see serious was waiting “ah here you are” you say just loud enough for people at the bar to here “and you’ve already ordered what a gentleman” you say taking your seat opposite him “so what sort of pranks have you managed to get away with, I am sure the map helps you a lot" you say while smiling at the timid boy “Well we’ve managed to turn are selves into animagus “ you gasp at this and smirk “I’ll show you mine if you show me yours” serious smiled “very well I’ll show you tomorrow after classes" you smile and take a sip of your drink remembering it was butter beer too late and managed to spit the drink out landing on serious, his smile never faltering “I guess you don’t like butter beer" he said while you wiped him down “no I hate the stuff too sweet” just as you sat back down you started to laugh at the state of him “I am so sorry" you say through giggles making serious laugh along with you but just as you had stopped laughing a Ray of red light flew towards serious “what was that?” you say turning around to see where the spell had come from but when you turned back you saw serious was no more.
 In his place stood a bunny dressed in serious clothes “on the bright side you look adorable but your now a bunny" serious bunny raised an eyebrow and then noticed his hands had become paws and began to hop around in circles “don’t worry I'll get you back to Hogwarts, I am sure professor Dumbledore will have an answer”.
Tom was pacing in his bedroom with Avery watching becoming extremely dizzy “care to explain why your pacing?” Avery said clearly concerned for his friend, Tom stopped and stared at Avery for a second and continued to pace “she’s going out with serious, its been less than a week since the ball” Avery raised an eye brow “so what, you only had to pretend to be her boyfriend until she found one or her parents gave it a rest on the marriage thing, you weren’t going to be with her forever” Avery said while eating some chocolates “didn’t I make my self clear, she is mine and no one else can have her” Avery began to laugh at Tom, causing him to duck from an oncoming spell “hey, I am only laughing because she was into you until you decided to avoid her like the plague for the last week” Tom looked at Avery as if he had grown another head “I wasn’t avoiding her, I was in the library “ Avery rolled his eyes “yes but you were invisible remember only members of your club can see you" Tom was about to speak when he remembered he had indeed placed a invisibility spell on himself so he wouldn’t be disturbed by the librarian, sighing he began to walk to the common room with Avery following close behind “what are you going to do?” Avery said while trying to keep up, “you’ll see" Tom said while smiling evilly.
“Professor please help, serious had been turned into a bunny" you say while knocking on Professor Dumbledore's door, the door flung open and there stood a concerned Dumbledore “what happened?” he said while looking at the pair of you “I am not sure professor we were at the three broomsticks when a spell came straight for serious and he turned into a bunny" Dumbledore stroked his beard clearly thinking and then ran towards his chest, digging into it and trying to find the correct potion “ah here it is, take this" he said giving serious a blue coloured potion, he drank the potion without question and within seconds he had reverted back into his former self “thank you Professor” you say clearly relieved at the fact serious wasn’t a bunny any more “as long as you are students, it is my duty to protect you" you could see a glint of annoyance in his eyes as if he would rather be anywhere else than helping you, so you bid him good night and left to the Slytherin common room to find tom and Avery walking towards you.
“finally decided to come back” you say upon seeing tom staring at you “it does not concern you of my whereabouts, its not like you were looking for me" Tom crossed his arms and proceeded to walk past you, making you turn around and grab him by the sleeve “and where do you think your going? I haven’t finished talking with you" Tom rolled his eyes and proceeded to flatten down his sleeve as if your germs had infected him “what is it l/n?” you could clearly see Tom was beginning to smirk “well since you’ve been ignoring me for the past week I’d like for you to help me with something" Tom’s eye brows shot up clearly interested in what you were going to do, “I am going to prank Dumbledore” you blurted out clearly excited, to which tom sighed “you-" you place your hand over his mouth to stop him from talking “I know, I know your a prefect, blur blur are you in?”  Tom removed your hand and with your puppy dog eyes staring at him he gave in and nodded “I never liked him, but I am not about to lose any of my image with him as he can see right through me anyway" Tom scowled as he remembered the first time he had met the professor.
