A bright light followed by a stream of girls screaming in the direction of the most popular boy of Sumeru highschool.
"Stop drooling Tighnari-"
Collei reached over and shut my mouth for me.
Gosh that man was a masterpiece.
He had clear tan perfect skin that wasn't patchy at all and covered his whole body, soft silky white hair that was completely natural and draped over his shoulders although sometimes he placed it in a ponytail.
Sly deep crimson eyes that one look could melt a man and deep ruby lips that I dreamt about meeting every night.
Not to mention to abs that we're covered in a slightly loose white school button up with the top three buttons undone and a silver chain sneaking around his neck.
Oh I wish my arms were that chain.
"TIGHNARI!"
Collei yelled and slapped me.
"I told you to stop drooling!"
"I can't help it girl-"
I rubbed my cheek and looked back towards the man that was struggling in his cloud of women.
He darted his eyes towards me and gave me a small smile.
I felt my ass hit the floor because I fell off my chair and onto the cafeteria tiles.
Collei reached down to help me up and I grabbed onto it.
Back in my seat I went back to staring.
Luckily with these ears I could hear everything.
"Uhm Ladies uh please can I have spac-"
I could hear Cynos deep but shaky voice as he tried to calm his women cloud down.
Poor boy could barely do anything without attracting attention.
I guess that's what it's like being that hot.

Collei slapped me again.
"You dumb ass I can tell when your thinking dirty crap because your tail becomes a helicopter"
"For the love of god stop hitting meeeeee"
I whined.
I was disappointed to see Cyno leave the cafeteria.
"You know we get our dorms assigned later?"
Collei spoke calmly.
"REALLY?? Wait hopefully I don't get someone shitty"
I grabbed my ears and shook my head.
The bell rang which always hurt my ears but it was tolerable.
Waving goodbye to Collei and rushing off in the direction of history class.
It was the first week of the first semester.
My junior year in high school.
Collei and I were both juniors.
Cyno in fact was a senior and everyone knew that he got the most attention even if he didn't want it.
My face lit up remembering I had this class with him.
Yes I knew his schedule by heart but I wasn't stalking him.
In anyway that he would know.
Luckily this was the one class that I sat next to him in.
I squealed just before entering the classroom.
"Tighnari your late. Again."
Mr Zhongli looked at his watch and sighed before ushering me to my seat.
I knew I wasn't going to get a single thing down.
Sitting in my seat I could hear Cynos heart beat.
Even being a metre away from him made me melt.
The girls kept glancing at him also which made my blood boil.
"Can the girls staring at poor Mr Matra please stop and leave him alone?"
Mr Zhongli held the bridge of his nose and Cyno gave him an apologetic yet thankful smile.
Which just attracted more attention to himself.
Noticing this he hid just face and tried to write stuff down.
His heartbeat quicken and he seemed to be stressed.
I decided to take a leap even though I knew Cyno would never like me.
Quietly ripping a small piece of paper from my notebook I wrote.
"Are you okay?"
I shakily reached over and placed it on his desk when Me Zhongli had turned around.
Cyno lifted his head and blinked at me with his fluffy long eyelashes.
Taking a deep breath I calmed myself and watched him open my note.
He seemed rather shocked but wrote back and held out the note towards me.
I reached out and took it which made my heart jump out of my chest when our hands touched.
"I'm fine I just don't like the attention"
I sighed and began writing.
"I don't understand how you feeling but I don't like seeing people unhappy"
I reached over to give it to him and as we both had our hands on the note a voice spoke loudly.
"Mr Marta and Mr Tighnari. Why are you passing notes in class?"
He sighed and spoke again.
"Sorry boys but that's going to be a lunchtime detention"
I lowered my head and faced him before mouthing the words "I'm sorry".
He giggled and smiled before mouthing "thanks".
Heads turned to him just because he laughed and he had eyes fixated on his perfect smile.
Why thank me though?
The rest of the lesson Cyno occasionally smiled at me and wrote stuff down and gazed out the window.
Yes I watched him the entire lesson.
After class I headed towards detention.
I sighed and texted Collei that I got detention which she replied with "dickhead".
Reaching the lunchtime detention classroom there was nobody there?
I found a seat in the back row and took out my notebook.
Foot steps were getting closer and I heard the sound of the seat next to me being pulled.
Looking up I saw Cyno saving at me next to me.
He muttered oh shit before some of his girls crowded at the door and watched him.
When they realised they couldn't get in they walked off.
"Thanks for saving me back there- I don't like being in the halls for obvious reasons"
He scratched his head and gave me an awkward smile.
"You don't like the girls?"
I tilted my head and my ears went with it.
"Eh? Not really I've never been fond of women"
He noticed my ears and smiled.
"Do they always do that?"
He spoke curiously and pointed to my ears.
"Hm these? Yes"
I looked at my ears and wiggled them.
The most adorable sound I've ever heard came out of his mouth before he spoke between giggles.
"Can I touch them?"
His request made me freeze with shock because I didn't let anyone touch them but this was my crush.
"U-Uh yeah sure"
Instead of getting up he lifted his whole desk directly next to mine and reached his masculine hand towards my right ear.
I tilted that ear towards him and he patted it softly.
It felt strange yet pleasing.
"Wow these are soft. Do you like put shampoo on them?"
His eyes were bright with curiosity.
"Nope I don't put stuff on them"
I replied and smiled.
The bell rang and I grabbed both my ears to shelter the sound.
Cyno looked worried?
"Does the sound bother you?"
He asked gently.
"Oh yeah it does I have hyper sensitive hearing"
I rubbed my head casually before picking up my backpack.
"I have to get to Science class before Mr Albedo yells at me for being late-"
He smiled and replied.
"That's okay I enjoyed hanging with you see you around"
His voice was so genuine as he picked up his bag and we left in our separate directions.
I heard the sound of his girl army follow him when they saw him leave.
Skipping all the way to class with happiness I made it on time surprisingly.
Cyno and I didn't share this class which was disappointing.
He had Mathematics to the moment.
"Alright now dorm. All teachers have been told to fish out your dorm numbers in this period so I will come around one by one and give you your key, number and agreement letter"
Mr Albedo was a calm but strict teacher.
After being around to everyone he came over to me.
"Tighnari Elligar your in room number 178, you will meet your dorm mate after this class" he placed the brass key on my desk along with the agreement letter.
I was excited but dreading the moment of who would be my dorm partner.
I wasn't close with anyone who was male.
I'm the closed gay boy that nobody knows is gay and all my friends are women.
People tend to think I'm strange because of the whole tail and ears thing although Gorgou and Mrs Miko also have ears.
I shot out of my seat as soon as I heard the bell ring.
Rushing up the flights of stairs and counting the dorm doors.

I fiddled with the key and shut myself in.
My dorm mate wasn't here yet so I placed my bag down and claimed the left bed.
Pulling out a physics book I read it page to page.
I was stunned to hear the sound of foot steps running and more screaming behind them.
The fumbling of keys at my dorm door terrified me and I held my book like a weapon on my bed.
The door shot open and a panting white haired boy slammed it behind himself before falling to the ground on his knees.
